thanks, guys. i'm really happy with it.

That is super slick. On one hand, I’d love a case just like yours. On the other, I’d feel the obligation to fill every pillow space!
Re: new "watch box" on the way
hah! yeah. i definitely don't have the, "but there are no spaces left in the box" excuse any more. i still need to downsize.

Um, hello. You can easily put another row of pillows on that top shelf.gwells wrote:hah! yeah. i definitely don't have the, "but there are no spaces left in the box" excuse any more. i still need to downsize.

you misunderstand, i will *never* run out of space in this.
i only mention downsizing because i don't wear all of them any more. sell 5 micros, buy one nicer watch.

This is incredibly cool!
Re: new "watch box" on the way
step one of refurb done.
I used Gerstner's finish restorer and preserver, along with some 0000 steel wool, and cleaned up the outside of the box. before on the left, after on the right. still a couple of stains that didn't completely come out (you can see on the front left corner of the slide out lid), but i got a ton of dirt off (you should see all the black on the rags) and the wood brightened up considerably. plus it's nice and smooth now and doesn't feel grody.
i also got a roll of Gerstner's heavy duty felt w/sizing in it, so the next phase is to pull all the felt out, measure new sheets, mix up the animal hide glue (also from Gerstner) and glue all new felt in.
