WTH Tactico? SBDX012 "homage"
Re: WTH Tactico? SBDX012
Plenty of affordable "genuine" Seikos available instead of that..
I'd go without before I strapped that on..

I would think if this is a titanium copy it might please a lot of MM300 hefty weight haters.

I don't care if it's a copy, homage, or whatever.
Fact is, the hands and markers they chose look like ASS compared to the original.

I'll most likely be picking one up preowned when they start being flipped. Just don't like preorders.
They took a legendary unobtainable piece that I wouldn't want to own ever (wouldn't want to save that much money for it) and improved on it making it more appealing to the eye and budget.
Love that sapphire bezel, the vintage accents and will come to with sweet ratchet clasp.
Can't find anything not to love except I can't own it yet.
Kudos to them.

It's a homage to 6159-7000 model. Yeah, far from obtainable for me and I wouldn't pay what the command.
.
The watch it pays homage to costs 7-10 times as much.

Re: WTH Tactico? SBDX012
I'd just pony up for the modern MM personally. There's something odd about the homage dial.

From what I gather the "COS" logo on the second hand is no longer there.

Yes, but the Seiko MM300 is also a homage to this watch and costs only 2-3x as much.Disc Golfer 209 wrote:It's a homage to 6159-7000 model. Yeah, far from obtainable for me and I wouldn't pay what the command.

Re: WTH Tactico? SBDX012
With that crappy Anko name so huge and ugly looking, the terrible seconds hand "design" and the square markers I find this watch to look like shit. Horrible. It has the basic shape and coloration of the Seiko 6159-7001, but the similarity ends there.
Edit, just saw the seconds hand has been changed. At $500 I could see the appeal to some buyers.
Each to his own.
Not my style at all.

That is the shit right there, IMO. I wish they had the Grey brushed dial proto. That black dial and the gold really is a beauty.

I think it looks pretty good. I do believe that stupid lume dot on the back of the case with wear a hole into your wrist and I not sure about the stepped case around the bracelet on the back of the watch. Maybe the case was stamped and this is why it looks like that?
Dare to say I think it follows the 6159 pretty good. And for 475 euro it is a doable price.

Re: WTH Tactico? SBDX012
475 Euros is doable for sure. I agree with the lumed dot. It may cause an indentation, but probably minor. They should have recessed it or done away with it completely. The lug link looks stamped, oh well.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Re: WTH Tactico? SBDX012
There is no way they are making enough of those watches to warrant creating the die to stamp those cases. With only a couple hundred examples being made, I've got to think those cases were just cut from bar stock on a CNC machine.toxicavenger wrote:I think it looks pretty good. Even if they did stamp them out, I would think they purposely milled out that stepped area between the lugs. Maybe there is a historical reason for this?

Quick edit after looking at the photo again - it looks like the step is more due to the end link than the case. The end link was machined to not fill the entire lug depth. No idea what purpose this serves other than maybe to reduce weight?

I agree, it is weird. Phillips pic shows the MM and 6159 casebacks.Ryeguy wrote:There is no way they are making enough of those watches to warrant creating the die to stamp those cases. The whole "clubokies" thing seems cheesy on the caseback. Is the case monolithic?

Hello, I'm new to this forum, but I've been following the Anko for a while. I own a SBDX012 and am immensely happy with it. I wear it all the time, to the exception of everything else. I was thinking of getting the ANKO as a beater version of my 012? Is this crazy?

It is according to whether you are a collector or a "wearer". If it was me the 012 would stay on my wrist fulltime, it would be a waste to not enjoy it.alis_aquilae wrote:Hello, I'm new to this forum, but I've been following the Anko for a while.
