Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
Yeah, they are in a couple of places here in Denver - including Macy's. Haven't bought a watch in a shopping mall in ages, but these had me tempted.Seppia wrote:Have you seen some in the wild?DenverBuff wrote:The Accutron II's also push a lot of buttons for me. Retro aesthetic, insanely accurate, sweeping second hand, inexpensive . . . a lot to like there.
I was drawn towards the design but they seem never to show up.

Tempted by a snorkel for 250.
Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
Anyone know the lug/strap width?

It wouldn't shock me if she was wrong. She wouldn't be the first PR person to give out bad information.JDC222 wrote:I emailed Bulova Chris and that response was from the Global Communications Coordinator...I would hope she'd relay the correct information.

Maybe 45 with crown, 42 case 10to4?

I'm liking this look of this one. Prefer traditional pushers, but these are growing on me.

The timing is near perfect with the Dave Scott watch last week

I like the look, but I wish it had a 12-hour chronograph. I don't have any use for split-second timing.

Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
it has a case like the 6309 so 45 might not be that bad

That's cool. Is he into watches? My father quit wearing a watch when he retired.CGSshorty wrote:Me too. I wore it every day for about 12 years. My dad still wears it.

Is this 45mm?

You give respect, you'll get respect - you just don't know your place.
Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
Not really, but he loves the Bulova and a G Shock I got him for his birthday. I also got him a bunch of NATO straps for another watch he has and he loves them. I think he secretly loves watches but would never spend real money on one.Selym wrote:That's cool. Is he into watches? My father quit wearing a watch when he retired.CGSshorty wrote:Me too. Does sound a little big...I'd be in for sure if it was an automatic movement. The quartz leaves me a little cold...

Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
I guessing the 262kHz on the dial means that it is the same movement that is in their precisionist series of watches.
I read that because of this type of movement the batteries have to be quite a bit larger otherwise they would run down extremely fast, so
in order to accomodate the larger battery the cases tend to be a bit oversized. Most precisionists and this one as well, at 45mm, are
on the grande side.

Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
My wife has a precision most and it's far from 45mm

Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
The precisionist models are different than their 292mhz models, lower pulses for longer batt life, still smooth seconds and more than 1 sec/yr too but not by much... a good compromise movement.

Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
I might do it anyway despite the rumored size. Ive been considering a replacement for my SNDA57 I use for work and this might do it as long as it's 100m WR.
I'm a sucker for this shit and will think of the size and movement as a progression of tech and what would be considered a decent space backup by today's standards.

Re: Bulova Moonwatch Re-Edition
Received this email today:
Hi David,
I checked with our product development team who assured me that the case
diameter does not include the crown. We measured from 10 o'clock to 4
o'clock, not including the crown protector either should there be one.
Also, The distance between the lugs is 20mm. 45 mm may seem large to your
audience, but once you see one in person you will be quiet impressed. I had
this style on just today and it felt great.
If you wouldn't mind, please remove my contact information from your blog

Thanks for that, Dave.
Just have to wait and see then...
I don't think this is an LE and I'm not spending retail for this, so I'll have time to wait for real world pics to come out and the the price to tank.
