Hello...again.

Post by Dedalus » Thu Dec 31, 2009 5:09 pm

Though I know many of you from Y3, thought I'd better post an introduction here so as to meet the newer faces of DWC.
As of my last post on the former site I was about to set off on a conference trip to Prague, and as I was away from the fora for a few months, I was unaware of what had taken place in my absence. :o Big thanks to Steven (scm64) for guiding me here, without a doubt my favourite place on the web to hang out.

For those of you to whom I'm unfamiliar: I'm an Aussie ex-pat now residing way down south in Dunedin, New Zealand. I'm a PhD candidate currently struggling with a thesis that explores transgressive body/identity politics in the writing of Irish author James Joyce (or something like that). :ugeek:

Sadly, as a struggling student with a small family, I'm currently stony broke. My one and only watch love is my trusty Omega smp 2254. Last year I sold a Benarus Barracuda, and a Zinex Trimix (in aid of my Prague trip). The Trimix is sorely missed... :crybaby:

Below are a couple of introductory pics so you can match this drivel to a face. One pic shows my son Lawrence proudly wearing his new G-Shock Mudman alongside his dad.

Look forward to meeting you all on the boards. Over the next couple of days for those interested I will post some pics from my Prague trip as well.
Cheers,
Jared.

Staging watch photos with Lawrence makes it all that much more fun.

HEYYYYYY !!! Welcome back Jared. I'm glad you found us. We've been going thru the list of MIA members trying to get all out guys back in the fold. Don't sweat the one watch thing. A 2254 for your only watch is a pretty solid start. It's a classic. Glad you are back and have a happy New Year my friend.

Finish? approx. 18 months in and I've just found my beginning and realistically looking at another 18mths-2yrs. :banghead:

Thanks for the welcome-back to all, and of course a Happy New Year.
