Watch adventures 2009

Post by suddha » Mon Dec 21, 2009 8:09 am

It's the end of the year - time for reflection. I've gone through far too many watches this year and my New Year's resolution is to stick with what I've got for 2010. Yeah yeah, don't laugh. But the great thing about going through so many watches this year has been putting them all through their paces. I thought this would be a fun way to summarize my 2009 in watches.

The Sub went skiing in minus 14.

and rowing a boat in Glacier National Park:

The Doxa 800Ti went diving in Cozumel:

and in Florida:

and it accompanied me on a six-hour adventure race:

My short but happy time with a Bernhardt (we went paddling):

The Aquatimer went swimming:

The Doxa 750T GMT timed my swim across San Francisco Bay:

The Suunto Elementum and Citizen Aqualand came diving in Cozumel:

The Longines did some early season skiing:

My U1 did a triathlon with me:

I did a business trip with the '74 Speedie before deciding a vintage 30m WR watch didn't fit my lifestyle:

Did I miss any? And now I'm left with these two:

What adventures await them in 2010? Off to Sri Lanka on Christmas Day for three weeks of diving, elephant safari and tea country trekking. Planning to try ice diving in February... Beyond that, not sure.

What adventures have your watches had this year?

My watches kicked a few doors with me, arrested a few bad guys, and spent a lot of time drinking beer and hitting baseballs. Sorry, that's the best I got.

PS - I couldn't help but notice that your 2010 New Year's resolution is remarkably similar to your old 2009 New Year's resolution. We just saw how THAT worked out.
