Gotta re-introduce my baby

Post by HalifaxNS » Tue Dec 15, 2009 5:25 pm

Tudor sub, Issued to my father in the mid seventies by the Canadian Navy. She spent 15 years in storage, lume doesnt glow but its a nice pale shade IMO. Bezel was missing but I got one mailed from Rolex. The crystal and bracelet is a knock off.

Thanks for looking,
Jerel.

BTW, same old pics, I know :naughty: . I have bin spending many hours organizing all my pics and have found some decent new/old ones, not on photobucket yet though. More importantly I gotta get off my ass and take some more, looking forward to doing that. My plan is to not let the cold stop me  .

What a beautiful watch, and what a wonderful story to go with it. That's a piece that'll be in the family for generations to come, no doubt; cherish it!

I love that Tudor Jerel. That's probably one of my favorite member watches. It's cool like a Rolex ... but cooler because it's NOT a Rolex. You know what I mean?

Love those pics, Jerel, and the watch even more. Did it originally have an acrylic crystal? Doesn't matter - it's still a knock-out

 Couldn't have said that better myself. Of all the homage & knockoff Sub-type watches made, that Tudor stands alone so much I consider neither a homage or a knock-off...it's just a sweet ass watch!

Nice piece Jerel with an obviously cherished history. Take care of that baby!!!

Agreed, fits in with my 'bang for the buck' theme.

Thanks River Rat, I more or less made him give it to me. I fell in love with watches then remembered my dad had a watch that was 'like a Rolex'. I asked him about it and he said it might be in his storage, few months later he found it. His first thought was to sell it :angryfire: , he had to go thew me first :hand: .
It doesnt have a marking on the back, that I know of. I believe it was the French military that had the M.N. on the casebacks, not sure if the Canadian military did anything like that.
BTW, your clean white makers are super cool 8-) .

Thanks for all the cheers everyone. I reconize the fact that most wis's would love to have a watch that their dad wore, its a gift not lost on me, I love it. Heck, it could of bin a Seiko and id still love it. But the fact that its cooler than that and has dove in many oceans (mainly Arctic) is kick ass :headbang: .
Did I say I love my watch?

Thanks again guys  .

Gorgeous!
This is one of my all-time favorite dive watches... classic, with just a hint of quirkiness to make it really cool & unusual!
I'd have bought one long ago, but there are so many fakes out there, I'm scared of them... you found the best solution to avoid that!
