New Doxa 1200T
I will probably get flamed by some Doxaholics but I was underwhelmed by the Unveiling of 1200T.......It was offered at a decent preorder price and looks good in that way all Doxas do. On the other hand maybe I am just losing it but I am Glad I didn't order a 1200T sight unseen as I would have been disappointed. Saying the Conquistador is the inspiration for this watch is like saying the model T was the inspiration for the Ford Focus....they are both Fords but completely different. I was hoping for something a bit more classic......maybe a US Divers logo, or the Helmet, Diver, (Conquistador Helmet)or at least something in the lower left quadrant. I do not mean to diminish the Honeymoon feeling that the those that are happy with thiers are feeling but I expected more. Am I the only one???

Re: New Doxa 1200T
Like I said earlier, the 750 is the (modern) DOXA for me. IMO the others pale in comparison.

Re: New Doxa 1200T
I was sorta "meh" about them from the pics that are popping up over at the Doxa forum on wus. It's nice enough and it IS a DOXA. But, to me anyway, everything else just falls short compared to the 5000T
But I'm biased. Unless we're talking 600 T-graph. Wish I hadn't missed that one though it's probably better in the long run as I still get to live in the house and sleep in my own bed.
Edit: I want to add: i love the slightly domed crystal and the GMT beads of rice bracelet on the 1200T's. The case dimensions are nice too but for some reason the 1200T Searambler pales next to the 750T SR.

Re: New Doxa 1200T
I think it looks great, but then again it`s the only Doxa that`s close to fit my wrist size. I think the Searambler looks stunning
But then againg I havent much to compare anything to since I`ve never even held a Doxa, let alone a Searambler
Not long til Silje breaks down and sells me hers though, I`m wearing her down I can feel it. Victory is within reach!
What`s the deal with the GMT bracelet? What makes if differ from the one that came with the 1000t?

Re: New Doxa 1200T
GMT bracelet is a bit thicker and heavier that standard BOR.
1200T is nice, and I'm always glad to see Doxa fans get a new model, but something about it doesn't sit right with me. Not sure what it is..

Re: New Doxa 1200T
I think it's the dial, at least it is to me. I think I read over at the doxa forum that the 1200T dial doesn't have the "tics" between the minute markers. That, and like red said, it needed a logo of some sort. just my .02 - I still love that SR dial though, regardless of the impressions of the 1200TSCM64 wrote:GMT bracelet is a bit thicker and heavier that standard BOR.

Re: New Doxa 1200T
I have one (Searambler) pre-ordered, but am still away on vacation, and now Doxa is away til mid-Jan, so I'll have to wait to pass judgement. As is typical with Doxa, they change the specs for the watch halfway through the process, so until people get one, your'e not quite sure what you'll get! I was happy with all my 750's and the 1000t Pro, a little smaller but got used to it. From the pics, not sure if I'll like it or not, and yes I agree, a "special" logo or something would have made this more desirable to me.

I like it, but have no dog in this fight. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the numbers/sizes.

Some people just have a way with words, and other people … oh … not have way.

Re: New Doxa 1200T
After seeing real pictures, I like it more than I thought I would. Still wouldn't order one new though - not at the prices used Doxa's are being stolen for.
I like that there isn't as much polish on the 1200T, especially on the bracelet. The thicker bracelet I'm still on the fence about. It's almost overwhelming on such a small case. The original beads of rice seems more proportional.
However - I am, unlike many of you, very glad there's no logo. I STRONGLY prefer the clean Doxa dials and for that reason, even at the same price point, would take a standard 1000T Pro over the COSC version any day.
1000T still trumps the 1200T in my opinion, but I do think the 1200T is a nice addition to Doxa's lineup. Not groundbreaking by any means, but a nice addition that incorporated some features requested by the Doxa community.

Re: New Doxa 1200T
I too am a fan of clean dials, not big on logos (as I type this with a big pirate logo on my watch
).
Here's a Doxa primer for you numerically challenged.

750T (750 M WR) 44.70mm x 14mm, flat crystal, BOR bracelet , Out of production
1000T (1000 M WR)(up to date replica of original 1967 Sub) 42mm, Domed crystal, BOR bracelet
800T - Titanium and Trit tubes, 750T size case but a bit thicker, and with 5000T like ratcheting non BOR bracelet, flat crystal

I love the 800. Does Paul still have one?
If it had a domed crystal it would be even sweeter.

Re: New Doxa 1200T
All the DOXAs are purdy, no denying that...but are they each distinct enough for someone to say...I gotta have each & every one of them.
STANDBY FOR DOXA BLASPHEMY: For me the answer to that is no, which may be why it took me so long to come around to even owning one DOXA. At first glance they all seemed to be the same thing, cushion case, same bezel, case is only slightly larger or smaller, with a different color dial and maybe a different bracelet plus the chrono version. For a watch that you buy without ever laying your hands on one in a brick & mortar store, I was surprised at the following they had.
Eventually I got one, and I started with the 5000T...and I love it; but, I don't feel the draw to have them all. Now we all know a few DOXAheads that strive for getting the whole collection of flintstone jelly jars. Kudos to them. I love Porsches, Ferraris, Vincent motorcycles and other pricy items and could never afford to buy all the ones I'd like to own...so the fanatical DOXAhead is way ahead of me in getting his/her dream collection.
The 1200T is, as I said, purdy. But with what I have already (and on the way), I just don't have a need for it. Now that Searambler T-Graph and the 800Ti Sharkhunter...those ARE on my list. After that, I'll have more than my fill on DOXAs...until I see the next new one, of course.
