I really do like my Seikos . . .(photo heavy)

Post by randyswagon » Sun May 23, 2010 12:14 am

. . . after climbing from the KoolAid vat, Seiko crept in and found the soft spot. I am very happy with this brand. I find alot of variety to choose from and the quality for the $$$ spent satisfies me very well.

. . . anyways, Wifey ordered me a tabletop light box, with lights and a little tri-pod and the whole works!!! So I gave it a shot tonight and gathered a few Seikos together. . . . Meh, I have alot to learn, but it was fun and I'll figure it out.

Nice pictures. I always like the props people use.

My Seiko Kool-Aid cup runneth over too. Its amazing what you can get for under $200 from Seiko. Move up to $500 and it's even better.

I think in 10 years after Seiko has completely moved up market and closed up the gray market on the way there, we will all look back in regret to what used to be. Just my conjecture and I hope I am wrong. So I say get em now while you can.

If you like dress styles, the new SARB models are really nice. This is my SARB021 which is a daily wearer during the work week. The dial is a perfect pool of black ink.

Nice pics fellas. I agree Seiko is a solid brand from Sub $100 all the way up to Grand Seikos with stops in between-For Divers anyway- like Sumo, Tunas, MM300, and Spring Dive.

Id donate a left one to get a Grand Seiko dress watch.

Thanks for sharing, like that modded Monster. Nothing wrong with Seiko's, other than the WUS fanboi's making out like they are the best no-questions-asked watches ever conceived by mere humans.

. . . . the SARB021 is gorgeous!!! I look at the prices all the time, hoping to catch a break. When a 3-hand can jump out at you, figure they nailed it . . . .

A light box is a great bit of kit to have,i would like one myself. As for the Seiko's.....very nice. They are kind of addictive, especially when,as a collector, you need another watch every so often and £1000 + to spare just isnt happening. I realised last night i have 6 Seiko's now and still crave a few more, lol.

The BFK (SKA371) has a great bracelet - one of the most rugged Seiko bracelets I've tried.

It really is. I had that one for a while and was quite impressed with the bracelet too.

Overall that one wears like a much more expensive watch. It's nicely executed.

. . . BFK is a brute for sure. LOTS of quality for the money.

Takes forever for mine to get full charge though.

I never got mine up to a full charge before I sold it. It must take A LOT of chargin'.

I really didn't like my kinetics for that same reason - that is, until this happened...

Put this on the cordless drill for an hour or so, and I've got a charge for the next four months....

BTW - Really nice collection - the first 'real' watch I bought was a Seiko at a pawn shop for $20, and I wore it for the better part of 10 years.... then it got hit with a hammer. :banghead:
