SEIKO SKA 371

After fighting a cold for a week I finally got around to taking some pictures of my new Seiko SKA 371. I only recently became aware of the watch but after reading an old review by Paul (deepcdvr) and I knew I had to have one. Lucky for me Santa brought this one in and the watch fund remains whole! Enjoy the pictures, more will be up soon with different strap combos and have an awesome NYE.

ha! I still have that watch.. I know, that's a-fkn-mazing, but I've flipped dozens of watches since and still beat the hell out of that one and it still ticks away. Great lume, size, bezel. I got drunk one night and completely brushed every shiny piece of metal and it is bad to the bone. I'll post some pics one day.

BTW, a 22mm zulu barely fits in there, but it works ok due to the case structure.

Huge congrats on a cool 'gift'

A great watch. Have two mates in close proximity to a IED blast early 2011. One was wearing a Seiko kinetic, the watch faired much better than they did from over pressure issues of that blast.

I am fascinated by the technology in these watches, along solar powered, radio receiving and GPS signal receiving watches just as much as I appreciate higher end mechanical watches.

Strength is = 2 or > than "tipping over a so- called smart car plastered in “Coexist” bumper stickers".

Congratulations John,

Beautiful watch and great photos. Are those hex screws on the lugs? Cheers.

No, they are metal rings that frame the drilled lugs. I always liked the look of them.

You got it right JD, the engineering that goes into the watch is jaw dropping. At $189.99 I don't know if there is a better bang for the buck.

Just to clarify it; the ends of the spring bars get seated inside the lugs as they normally would. But the holes are drilled completely through the lugs and the collars just dress it up. To remove the bracelet would can use a paper clip on each side, push in and the bracelet will drop out. Definitely a unique way to design it and I think they look good too. However it can be kind of a pain to remove the bracelet. Plus I was worried about the spring bar ends scratching the inside of the lugs. No problems yet though.
