I'm gonna be honest here, Rahul, but those aren't three watches that I'd move a 243 for (okay, maybe the MM300).

Still, the mere fact that you're even thinking about this indicates to me that it's time to move the 243 (when you have a 372 in the stable, its hard to reach for any other PAM).

Regards,
Adam

to get rid of a 243 for those three?

GTFOH.

Part with the 243, as you have that inkling, but save the funds for a watch worthy of replacing the 243.

And I can think of many others than this.

Dont get me wrong, I love me some speedmaster and SM300....but meh on a seiko.

One wrist. Too many watches only results in more watches sitting in the box.

Plus, seems like you're gunning for three watches that look very similar. Especially if you are already not reaching for the 243 because of redundancy with the 372 and that similarity is too much.

Thanks guys, you've given me a lot to think about. I'll probably delay the decision for a couple of months, until I'm back in NYC in July, and have the opportunity to check out some vintage pieces.

I would never sell my 243 for any of the watches you are contemplating. Matt, Adam, and others have given you good advice, but I have another option for you. I agree with others regarding the fact that once you've got a hankering to sell a watch, it's hard to get out of your head. So, how about selling that 243 and picking up a 194 or 285? Keep it in the family; you're a 'Risti dammit!

What he said...

It's a big problem for you major collectors (more watches than wrists available). Maybe you should start thinking about an intra-day platoon system - that might help determine what is not getting wrist time because of pure time constraints vs. which ones just aren't doing it for you anymore.

....but if you flip the PAM and get the 3.....you may keep 1 or 2 of the 3. never know until you try them on and wear them.

all three can be flipped without much loss....

then you can move onto something else, or back to something you have had.

chase what appeals to you and settle for those you feel work best for your collection and wrist.

matt's advice is biased -- he has had 2000 watches pass over his wrist, the rest of us need to try many others.....

I would do it. Just realize that those 3 will be gone at some point too. I've had the Watchco, the MM and Speedy. Out of those 3 you may hang on to one or two. Good idea to try them.

I halfway like (sorta) one or two PAM models. That isn't one of them. I'd flip it for sure. The Speedy is a classic and one I'd get (again). Not sure if I'd bother with a Watchco or MM as I just don't think either would have staying power for me.

That's one Pam that I really love.. and would generally say no.

However.. when I see your wish list which you can get in on the back of moving that on.. it's so tempting. I would say go for it!

That's three class watches you have lined up there... and I would say aye... go for it!

Rahul.... if you decide to sell the 243, please shoot me your price.

I've had a Speedy Pro, like just about everyone else here. Cool as hell watch, no doubt. But it ain't no 243. If you are looking for a classic in every way (size, history, styling), however.... great call.

As someone who sold their 243 and misses it every day I implore you not to do this.

I would pick every single one of the 3 you would pick up with the funds from selling the 243 over the 243. I just don't get Pam's ...
