WTF! Redline caseback sticker removed the pvd from finish.

Post by Lush » Tue Mar 20, 2012 4:33 pm

So I was getting ready to move a few pieces and when I removed the red line sticky from the caseback of the Korsbeck off came some of the finish. Granted it has been on there since new but this is new to have it peel off. Coating was done thru Fricker by Poul, the surface is polished underneath and wondering if it had proper adhesion because of it, or just the mixture of the two broke it down over time. Hard lesson learned on this one.

Holy crap!

I always remove them. I am not sure why folks leave them on anyways!

This is a damn shame. I have been waiting for you to sell this one.

Obviously thats a bad PVD job. One of the first tests you perform on a PVD piece doesn't involve all sorts of expensive test equipment and analysis-you simply take a piece of scotch tape and see if you can pull the film off. Sorry to see that bud.

Have never seen that happen before, even on cheap PVD watches.
