Nevermind

Post by jswing » Tue Apr 22, 2025 5:46 am

I haven't been able to view DWC on my laptop since last week. It's the only page I'm having an issue with. Posting from Tapatalk now, which is OK I guess, but I'd prefer accessing on my laptop again, and I can't figure out what's going on. Here's what I see.

edit: nevermind. I'd been trying to fix it since last week, and of course as soon as I posted I figured out what was wrong.

My first reaction is - Do you have a cat? Mine have changed settings, deleted documents, and in one notable instance sent an email that consisted of five pages of the letter 'd".
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

LOL, I do have a cat, and I'm sure he's the culprit. He usually just turns off the wifi, but has deleted the contents of my inbox and sent a very interesting email to a coworker. In this case, I guess he managed to hit control -, shrinking the screen. I'd have probably figured it out sooner, but it only effected DWC, I must have been on that page when he stomped the keyboard.

Jeff and Henry, I really want a cat now. :)

And on the having issues with sites, I swear it happens so much of the
time nowadays. I mean it hasn’t happened with DWC for me, but it
does happen with various sites. And remember years ago? Whether it
was five, ten, fifteen years ago how things seem to work more easily?
But nowadays, sites seem to crash, or even won’t let you visit them
if your browser is too old. :( It’s definitely annoying.

I’m not sure what was causing your problem, but I’m very glad that
everything is working alright for you now.

Thanks for posting this, as well as for the laughs Jeff and Henry !!!
