Watching 007 Again

Post by ezcheese » Thu Feb 29, 2024 12:35 pm

Years ago Emily’s dad got me the full box set of Bond movies. Skyfall had just come out so I have everything up to it in the set. Just started watching them again while working this week and I just started Goldfinger.

Love Bond movies. I remember seeing them in movie theaters when I was young. Yes, I'm that old! Bond girls are the best.

Just watched the Craig ones in order over the last few weeks. In the middle of The Spy Who Loved Me now.

I've always felt that Goldfinger was the best Bond movie ever made, with Thunderball a close second. Definitely the best cars, best watch, and top tier pussy galore....

Still amazes me that the props people couldn’t be bothered to get a correctly sized strap for Bond’s famous Submariner.

You can’t find it because it’s under Bond’s foot

Goldfinger is definitely top 3 for me. I might have a reformulation after watching them all again, including the ones that come after Skyfall. When I saw Skyfall in the theater I thought it might just be the best of all.

Awesome. My father took us to the bond movies all the time as kids. Remember back in the 70s when theaters played commercials for local businesses before the movie started? We were in one of the commercials for a neighbors ice cream shop and it premiered before Diamond Are Forever.

I was extremely disappointed with everything after Skyfall (which I also rank among the best).

Skyfall is definitely the best looking Bond film ever. The cinematography in that movie is incredible.

I have the blue ray/ dvd set too and I bought the last few that weren’t included.

I LOVE Skyfall. Perfect bond film. I grew up watching them on tv and my family all went together to the theater in the 90’s to see the Brosnan installments.
For some reason live and let die is my most memorable as a kid. But I actually enjoy the Timothy dalton films more than I should.

My favorite Bond movie is The Living Daylights. Adding Goldfinger, Casino Royal, Skyfall and Golden Eye and that’s my Top 5.

I do, and I remember the commercials for the nasty food they sold at the concession stand at the drive ins. That food was awful, but we still had to have it. That's cool you were in a commercial.

Oh neat Derek, I bet the movies seem better than ever too ! 8-) :)

It’s got to be the best having the box set like that. Because most times
when all of us get to watch them, they have commercials all throughout.
But watching them uncut has to be so much fun. And then you can watch
each one in succession over the coming days, and weeks which is great !
Plus maybe find new appreciation for some of the movies that you maybe
didn’t care for as much. And will all of the sudden love. ;)

Enjoy Derek, and keep us updated on how you are enjoying them.

Thanks so much for the post !!!

If memory serves, that Bond Geiger counter watch was a modified Breitling Top Time.

EDIT: More history to this watch than I was even aware... https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/on-th ... er-counter

Because it wasn’t an Omeega
