Some have bad hair days and others..well they have bad watch days
Smacked my Magrette into a metal door frame at work friday and cracked the crystal

I`ve only had it for a week or so
Guess I should take a hint and just accept the fact that it`s too darn big for me.
Then I got home and had a look in the watchbox for something to cheer me up, pull out the Marathon with it`s awesome new custom Nato and wind it up. Smoooth, smo...WTF?
Now I turn the crown and the rotor spins like crazy
Karma has been such a bitch lately

Too bad.
You can get the crystal replaced and forget about the whole incident.

Sorry that you're having a bad watch day, Kenneth.
Here's to better watch days, ahead!
(even with the chipped crystal, those are beautiful pics.

That blows K-Man. There has to be a local guy or even someone in Norway you can mail it to. Theres gotta be someone nearby that can fix a 2824 rotor issue.

Kenneth, turn that frown upside down. hehe. OK, seriously, here are the positives:
1. The crystal issue could have been waaaaay worse. Most times, whena crystal is shattered it warrants a complete service due to pieces of crystal possibly working their way down into the movement. In your case, a new crystal seems to be more than enough. btw, 1 word: ACRYLIC
2. The rotor issue is an easy fix. Pain in the ass, YES. Expensive, probably not.
3. The best news is, you still have that bad ass Oyster Perpetual. You ... DO ... still have that bad ass Oyster Perpetual, ... right? Kenneth ..... tell me you still have the Rollie.

Sorry Kenneth. Sucks x 2, but as people have said, these are not terrible fixes.

Kenneth,
Sorry to hear about the Magrette and the MSAR....
Like David said, hopefully not too expensive to fix...
Maybe to get an idea you could send an e-mail to

Feel for ya brother....sent a vintage Alera out once for restoration, came back and on day one it flipped off the bathroom counter right onto the tile floor crazing the crystal...
