We can find something like this absolutely ridiculous and say so, but that doesn’t mean we have “ruffled feathers”.

I’m not ruffled - I think the article is nonsense but I don’t read watch articles anyway. Maybe most watch articles are nonsense?

Maybe there are a bunch of people who don’t agree with the woke culture and don’t want a world where our sons have to apologize for being men, because that is where the USA is heading.

But then there are some who just want to go along with it and think it’s a natural cultural transition.

This is not political- it’s the world we live in today. And I know people on all sides of the political spectrum who are done with the woke-ness.

Yeah, this article was meant to poke and it is obviously nonsense. What I tried to do was to consider the source as best I could from what the author mentions about himself.

Let’s see - he mentions what his mother bought him for Christmas, but not what his father bought. Was their no positive father figure in his life?

He got “luxury” items for the holiday (not necessities like many of us) so it seems reasonable to assume he grew up in some degree of at least middle class affluence.

He mentions he went to college for four years, but failed to earn a degree. That seems like a bit of a red flag to me. Why would someone go the distance yet fail to complete their degree? Lack of motivation? Expulsion?

He fears “toxic masculinity” yet buys a military style watch and wears it on a camo strap. Kind of an odd choice.

His comment about no millennial being successful sounds pretty “woe is me” to my ears. My 26 year old nephew graduated from Trinity and is rapidly moving up the ranks in his company. My 22 year old niece will graduate this spring and already has a good job lined up in Washington DC. Anyone can be successful with hard work.

Ultimately I just see this as an article written by a spoiled kid who lacks motivation and looks to place the blame for his lack of perceived success externally rather than doing a bit of self introspection.

I do not see DWC as an echo chamber in any way. There are a lot of opinions around here and even though I don’t agree with Andrea or Rahul or Jeff does not mean I hate them and wouldn’t sit down and have a drink with them.

I’m not on social media besides here and Reddit where I just look at guns, watches and knives. I don’t really have an echo chamber that I live in.

The term that you quoted of mine - woke supremacist came from a Joe Rogan episode. I work with mostly left leaning people- and they are just as over the whole woke culture as I am. Even though I do not voice my opinion at work in any way. I’m a white man who works with mostly women and a lot from different cultures- and we get along just fine. I just can’t talk about anything going on in the world.
