Agree, but they have it in them to be so much better. It goes to show how much a good design team that listens to customer input can help a company. Obviously this is what they've been lacking for over a decade now.

I've handled the 500m a number of times, and while it was a step forward in quality and finishing compared to the 300m (what a piece ), it's still basically an ugly design IMO. Man that bezel is just...bad. :puke:

Here's a pic showing an example of improved finishing IMO. Pic isnt' mine, but from my vast watch pron folder

Never said there was anything wrong with the Seiko movement because there isn't. It was simply TAG lying about where it came from that was the issue.

Many older Heuer models were really, really, nice. I never understood TAG buying Heuer and then throwing their style overboard nearly immediately. The Pilot Calculator model for example, that Pacifichrono and David (DMB) own, comes to mind as one that would sell like hotcakes if re-issued.

I like the style, but it has only a 90 min power reserve with the chrono running.

Obviously I'm no chrono genius, but if a chrono watch on full wind runs for 40 hours w/o the chrono running, I've read that with the chrono running they should run for around 20+ hours. Is that not correct?

Or is he talking about the measurable elapsed time? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding here.

It looks like the power reserve for the chrono is indeed only 90 minutes, and the PR indicator is only for the chrono.

The chrono PR is separate from the time PR, and doesn't affect the normal 42 hr PR.
