Re: IWC Presents the new Ingenieur Collection
I like the three-hander. Unless I missed it the presenter didn't say which movement was in it, but at an MSRP starting at £3950 I'm guessing it isn't in-house.
Re: IWC Presents the new Ingenieur Collection
So far so good. I'm happy they dropped the stupid car motif on the back. IWC seems to be back on track lately ...
Edit. I like the new limited edition chrono with the lightning bolt - everything else in the Ingy line is complete shit after going back and looking at them.
What's with the fake subdials on the perpetual? Why the replica ETA movements? Why did they drop the lightning bolt and anti-magnetic properties on the entry level models? What the fucking fuck IWC?

I don't love it, but it could be worse. The dial looks less cheap than the current ETA three hander. I'd probably buy a genta style Inge with a similar dial quality and no crown guards.

I really like it. I hope they'd offer some with no date like the Ingenieur of olde.

It's crazy that richemont doesn't produce an entry level in house movement for use in all their brands.

Now that I see a better photo/rendering of the three-hander I'm disappointed. It doesn't seem to have the character or elegance of the 666 on which it's loosely based. I think they've tried to make it look too sporty and it seems to more closely resemble the new Aquatimers than an Ingenieur. At the very least it would have been nice to see 'Automatic' replaced by the lightning bold Ingenieur logo on the dial. No in-house movement and no anti-magnetic shielding

It looks like a shitty seiko design honestly. It will be a huge failure. Who would pick this over any other too big SS dressy watch? I'd take an aqua terra over this thing for sure.

I think they got a lot right with the Vintage Collection Ingenieur from a few years back. Of course it was discontinued after a short time...

SW300, meh...A friend went to IWC and when he met with some of the marketing folks he asked about the lack of in-house. They were speechless--they've been asked a million times about an in-house and they know that they aren't fooling anyone with Sellita..

JLC geophysic true second does the original far more justice.

Surprisingly this is even getting a lukewarm reception at the official IWC forum.

Re: IWC Presents the new Ingenieur Collection
I actually think it's pretty good looking, but it doesn't look like an Ingenieur to me. My mind goes right to my old AMG titanium 3227, that was an Ingenieur.
