New one from Steinhart. Speedy influenced.

Looks like they threw some Daytona in there too. Unfortunately it feels a bit generic to me.

Yes, a Daytona homage. The dial looks really flat to me.
I just checked the stats- 18mm thick. Too much for me.

Interesting to have "value" options for Swiss automatic chronograph watches and good price point for what you get. Not fond of how large "Swiss Made" is on the dial.
18mm height is a no go though. The 16mm coaxial Speedy is already too thick.

I actually don't think it looks that bad. Steinhart's logo is the worst part on this one.

I think it looks OK, but I have given up on the brand. I think I have bought 4 watches direct from Steinhart, each one arriving with a QC issue. I understand these aren't the most expensive watches, but to consistently have it happen when spending $500 is a bit disappointing.
Having said that, they took care of every issue in a timely manner, so good on them for that.

Maybe it's just the photograph but the hour markers seem almost invisible. They seem way too short.

Nothing about this watch appeals to me at all. The somehow looks bare and 18mm thick is crazy. I'm sure they will sell but not for me at all.

Well, the pushers are completely different. And worse.

The pushers are from the new/newer Daytona the rest is Daytona. This is that fine line between an homage and fake, hard to judge. I guess because they don't make these anymore?

I'll bet the domed crystal accounts for 4-5mm

Looks like it has that stupid sticking-out tube thing between the case and crown, and I don't get display backs anyway and even less so on an ETA however much it might be modified. So, yeah, I don't like it much. Nice strap, though.
Regards

I liked it until I saw the profile pic. Too bad because I would have picked one up... I want another panda dial chrono.

That really sucks! I've bought three or four directly from them and haven't had an issue. Did Steinhart made it right?

Unfortunately my one and only Steinhart came with a huge scratch along the entire side of 9 o'clock of the case and they offered a free polish with me paying for shipping. Kinda funny since it was a BNIB from Steinhart directly. So I guess theey don't do any QC before shipping

I just read a few pages on various sites about the movement. It seems to be a typical Dubois Depraz chronograph module set atop an ETA 2824-2 in this case. That appears to account for the height.
