Black Bay Bronze

Post by dukerules » Sat Mar 12, 2016 6:46 pm

Honestly, this is the worst thing I've seen put out by a major player since the last iteration of the Breitling SO.

More pics. Drilled lugs which is nice for those that like it. One thing I hadn't noticed yesterday, it has the shield rather than the rose, so I guess at least they're not calling it a heritage model. Price is rumored to be 3700 euros which isn't bad. I have to admit, I don't think it's a bad looking watch, but I do dislike it as a Black Bay.

Tudor has diluted the Black Bay range again.

I'm kind of surprised it's getting this kind of reaction. Bronze? Seems to be popular. Drilled lugs? Come on!

Where are these photos and info coming from? Was it leaked? I thought I saw "confirmed" somewhere but I haven't seen any actual acknowledgement from Tudor.

Shoulda been brushed rose gold, same size, no 3, 6, 9.

It's kinda cool but not for $4000 or whatever. I guess it'll appeal to the panerai and micro crowds?

Bronze, nice touch.
43mm, no go.

Pelagos 5 liner was a flop... Now bronze black bay (bbb) will also be a flop. =(

Jon, I can only tell you my own opinion. I actually like bronze watches. And it's not like I think 43mm is too big. I just don't like a 43mm bronze Black Bay. It's not (my opinion only, and I'm very opinionated) in the original spirit of what the BB is supposed to represent. If this said Helson on the dial, I think I'd like it, just not as a Tudor BB. Oh, and I found the pics I posted on WUS Rolex/Tudor forum. I think they're from an article that leaked ahead of time, same as the BB Black was leaked.

If it was priced like a Helson people would probably be less critical.

I would prefer it without the numbers, but it looks good. I want to see it in person.

I like the drilled lugs, but I can't wear bronze without my skin changing color.

Don't kid yourselves guys, Rolex/Tudor will sell all they can make for at least the first couple years.

That's why there's usually a titanium case back. Not sure what they'll do.

And I selfishly hope it'll be a sleeper so I can get a much better deal, but I'd probably hit this at full price.

i didn't notice the numbers at first, had to scroll back up and then I noticed it.

never really got into the bronze thing at all, and overall - don't like or dislike the watch. i do like the strap..a lot actually. i'd buy that in a heartbeat!

I like the bold direction and chances a Rolex owned company is taking. We are so used to stodgy creeping changes.... This is both interesting and intriguing. Tudor is doing all the things Rolex will not do with the main brand.

Good for them, I like the new size, not the dial. But hey, we KNOW there will be 5 models of it soon. LOL

My hope is that the present range will now wind up with the in house. I'm hoping that the increase in case size isn't out of necessity for fitting the new movement. The amount of text is nice, although I still don't have a hatred for the Pelagos text with the in house movement. If the Black Bay Black goes to in house, I'm there.

Odd choice given bronze's popularity three years ago, and baffling they'd kick the size up further. Bummer.

I like it but for the bronze. Just not a bronze watch fan. I don't mind the 3-6-9 dial, and there's some history there (at least with Rolex).

I like it doesn't have that colored cock ring around the crown tube
