H2O Hydra - first shot release

Post by Danny_T » Mon Feb 15, 2016 3:03 pm

Clemens just posted the first image of the upcoming Hydra and holy shit it looks super!

I'm pumped for this one. I'm paid in full and got all the add'l bezels in all 3 finishes (bronze, ti and DLC)

The photo below is all ti with bronze dial.

SEXY !!

I like those a lot-interesting dials no doubt. Especially the bronze. Really dig the handset.

really cool looking. in the end, it was still too risky at 44mm. i'm a smaller watch guy, but they're great looking watches.

Does a bronze dial patina?

Has too right? Entropy. I'd like to see that dial in person.

I think the dial might be clear coated, so it won't patina.

I don't think it will patina without air or moisture?

When you look at shark divers the bronze rehaut looks as shiny as day one.

Anyways would love to see a wrist shot for potential lug overhang

That's the combo I ordered. I think Danny and I have the same combo with extra bezels.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

H2O Hydra - first shot release

Post by Danny_T » Mon Feb 15, 2016 6:24 pm

Yeah that's the combo I ordered pictured above and added the extra bezels in bronze and DLC.

Can't wait to see the black dial. I believe that will be posted next. Clemens mentioned he has 2 hydra's assembled but only had time to post the one so far.

I'll see if I can find it.

****EDIT - found it. In the WUS thread Clemens mentioned "watches are scheduled for end 1st quarter 2016".

BTW the buckle that will come with the hydra will be the hottest buckle ever!

That's a very nice buckle, but let's call a spade a spade. It is a ventilated Ennebi roller bucks.

Nothing to hide there, that's where the cues were taken from. This is an improvement IMO.

I will prepare for tomorrow some more images. Here is a new image of the H2O HYDRA in Titanium Grade 5 and the bronze dial. The bronze dial is reflecting heavily the black studio walls. The first photo was reflecting the black walls of my photo studio and the bronze color was a little too dark. In reality the dial color is lighter and I think the following image represents the real color of the bronze dial well.

And the update on approx delivery. So looks like late spring/early summer when they'll be on the wrist.
The black UNITAS 6497 movements are scheduled to arrive from Switzerland end of this month, the dials are already in stock and the handsets will be in within the next three weeks. The cases may be delayed to end April (we lost 5 weeks in customs clearance of the RAW material in December last year), but in the next three weks I will get a more precise info.

Now this is a lightweight watch  I think it'll wear awesome no doubt.
The H2O HYDRA is currently my most favorite watch. What else would you expect me to say, but there are some good reasons. The case itself weighs just 43 grams and the complete watch incl. leather strap and buckle is below 90 grams. While keeping the 44mm diameter, which I prefer for my 6.7" wrist, the watch is present on the wrist but comfortable to wear due to the low weight and height. In comparison to the ORCA series with 250 grams you sometimes wonder whether you have lost the watch in the meantime.

I wonder if it's the lighting but that dial looks like it's rose gold colored
