I've been eyeballing bronze cases lately. I dig the Halios Tropik, of course.
But at $350, an Armida A1 42mm or a Helson Sharkdiver 42mm seem like a crazy good deal and cheap enough to get a fun patina watch on the wrist.
Any thoughts on other brands/styles? I'm not sure there's much difference between the two other than the design of the case. And I have no idea what the movement inside is quality-wise.
Advice?
Much love, peeples

Armida and Helson are good options if you want a diver. For something outside the box, check this out.

Damn. That is sweet.
I keep thinking about where the patina would hit, really bringing out the design of that case.

I have an A1 black dial date that's slated for a FS post. PM me if you want more pics. As is obvious from the pics patina is an uneven thing (that can be polished off).

To me, the A1 wears like a slightly larger TSAR. It's not a big watch but the bezel is prominent due to its thickness.

I don't think you could go far wrong with either really...
Movements are either Miyota (Citizen) or Seiko as far as I know so both strong and reliable. They've dropped then ETA versions I think.

Can't really beat Armida for the money. Mine is rugged, smooth-winding and aging beautifully. Sits well on my wrist too.

You should have bought the Helberg I just sold. I practically gave it away.

Eric is the best. Taking a power break during training with the 42mm Brass Armida A1. Love it!

the Xmas sale allowed me to buy this one for <$300. I have no experience with any other
brass or bronze watch, but this one has been a Best Buy for the money.

Congrats, big fan of brass cased watches. I am going to list my Ventrus brass tomorrow - cheap. Not wearing it.

Thanks!! Loving this watch. It's a refreshing change with the brass case. Not better, just different.
