Re: Do they think we just fell off the turnip truck?

The lighting is probably emphasizing the blemishes on the case, but it certainly doesn't look unmarked  What's the typical discount on Longines these days? Since you don't seem to be fixated on the no-date model, you might be able to find a good deal on a new date model. With an MSRP of $2...

Re: What you got for <$1000?

Question is now where to get a thin leather (roo leather) nato. Check out Bas and Lokes. I bought one of their single pass NATOs for my Hamilton Khaki and love it. https://i.imgur.com/CjkYSdPh.jpg What a great strap site with tons of length options. Got him a vintage green two piece which will work...

My favorite version. The dial is gorgeous. I wish they would have made this in steel, though.

Re: What you got for <$1000?

You didn't say what type of watch he's looking for. Diver? Pilot? Something else? +1 for me on Longines, great watches at reasonable prices. If he's looking for a pilot watch, I'd look at something like a Laco Westerland. A 45mm case for his large wrist size, ETA movement (hand wound, there's an aut...

Who's the best guy to buy a BNIB Rolex from these days, DavidSW? I haven't bought or sold anything in a few years so I'm a little out of the loop  Definitely go with DavidSW. He's clearly the dealer who operates on the lowest margins... https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/uzlE5qWv6I_SKlya...

Re: ATL GTG - a few pictures

Thanks for the pics Mike, looks like a great GTG.

I'm curious about that Hanhart - I thought the red portion of the chronograph reset button was made from ceramic, but it looks like it's flaked off in that photo. Odd.

I'm trying to figure out how that Journe hand watch works.
Apparently 'F.P.' stands for 'Face Palm' ;)

It's the watch you buy that causes your wife to show you this:

Re: Glashutte Original Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition 2021

I love the Senator Sixties line but I'm not completely sold on the look of this particular dial. The modular chronograph movement also bothers me at this price point.

Re: CGI Security Warning

Just when you think Taptalk can't get any more dumb. I won't bore you with the details, but it seems to be working now. You may need to clear the Tapatalk app cache in order to get it to forget the http site and start using https. You might want to put up an FYI post on the main board to let people...

DWC is now secured using SSL encryption

You may notice that your browser now indicates that DWC is secure. If you're using Chrome, you'll see a little lock icon beside the site address field, other browsers should indicate it similarly. There was an issue with Tapatalk accessing the secure site because it doesn't handle HTTP redirects as ...

Re: CGI Security Warning

Just a quick note to let you know that I'll be enabling https on DWC this evening. Once enabled, you should no longer see security warnings from your browser. I'll post again once it's enabled. Unfortunately, I won't be able to fix the CGI site ;)
