2 registers anyone?
Don't get over this way too much anymore. Just too damn busy. Here's one I picked up recently. A nice little Elgin Valjoux 7733.

The new PO is a great watch. Nice pickup. The price is a little steep but omega raised the bar with this one.

11,007? Really? They are making way too many of these things. It's not horrible IMO. Ditch the red 50 bezel and it's fairly wearable.

Re: New shoes for the po
Thanks guys. It took me 5 years to try a strap. The PO bracelet is a nice chunk of metal. Looked at dozens of straps before taking the plunge. Not a bad look for $30 or so.

New shoes for the po
Well back again after taking some forum time off. Anyway got one of my inlaws to spring for this gift for Christmas. Its one of freda's straps. Goes well with the PO IMO. Got it on one of bobs deployants. Pretty solid combo. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee361/124spiderfan/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG...

Remember when...
Remember when Holbrook posted a "fair" comparison review of a 2254 and a sub? Remember when Chuck Maddox said of the PO that it was a shot across the bow of rolex. When I bought my 2254 in '02 the Rp was $1750. When I bought my PO in '06 the Rp was $3200 and when I bought my speedy the Rp was $3500....

Re: Sad little seamaster
It's been a long while since I took an active interest in anything watch related. so please forgive me for being a bit of a tit on this one. What's wrong with the dial? I only ask so I can learn everything I forgot whilst having my brain sucked out by Facebook over the past year or two. Unfortunate...

Re: The 9 Most Important Watches in the World
Interesting read. Stupid but interesting. And the rolex oyster didn't become perpetual until many years later and it wasn't the first to do so. Such misinformation is just rampant.

Re: What are your experiences with Omega Service in the US?
New jersey service center has a crap reputation but Philly and la and the boutiques seem to have decent reputations. A solid independent that used to be a service center is nesbits in Seattle. I'd send them a coaxial no hesitation.

Re: Sad little seamaster
Thanks guys. It has a nice case and the movement is in very good shape but it does have one of those 10 foot redials. Looks nice from 10 feet but.... At any rate I'll sit on it for a while. It's been in my possession for a few years now. It was purchased before I knew what I was doing in the vintage...

Yup a speidel. Normally I just toss them in the garbage but I don't have a spare strap for this one. I can't tell you how many people over 70 I see wearing them. They must pass these things out at AARP meetings.DMB wrote:IS that a stretch bracelet? Man, my dad used to wear those on all his watches.

Re: Vintage Gold w/ caliber 560
Thanks guys. I'm not really a fan of gold watches but it works nicely on these smaller vintages. It's not 44mm of in your face gold. Its from a more modest time.

Sad little seamaster
Heres one I picked up for chump change on the big auction site. A little vintage seamaster caliber 500 circa 1957 or so. The dial was refinished at some point in its sad life. Rather poorly I might add. Not sure what to do with this one yet. It keeps chronometer time. It may get resold as I don't ne...

Vintage Gold w/ caliber 560
Here is the cream of the collection. A mint condition caliber 560 Kl 6610 14k. After reading Desmond's article on the 560 I decided to look for one. Some of them come up from time to time in various states of condition and a lot of mis cased frankens. Was scanning the big auction site and came acros...
