All the more reason to ask. He should have made a decision by now and sold things.

Those black lug *things* are a dealbreaker. As is the price probably.

Re: Sinn U1 winding whilst screwing the crown down

I tried this very unscientific test with my U1Pro (SW-200). With the mainspring totally unwound, I unscrewed and screwed down the crown for several minutes and couldn’t hear any sound from the winding gear train. The seconds hand never moved. It’s about 9-10 turns to lock, and the seconds hand migh...

Re: Sinn U1 winding whilst screwing the crown down

Not one person has said "yeah I own a U1 and it does this." Not ONE person so maybe quit taking the proverbial? It's an expensive (*to me) watch and I would like to know 100% for certain. Thanks. Actually, Cesar is a person. See his reply above. If you aren’t getting what you need here, it’s fine t...

I’ve owned many and didn’t have the issue but have had the same occur with other watches. It didn’t impact the watches in other ways though
Thanks :-)

This forum probably has had the most U1s per person compared to anywhere else on the internet....

I've owned a few but don't own any now, so I can't replicate it for you.
Thankyou. 😊

You already received your answer. If you don’t trust what we say, move along.
Like I said, I've heard people saying yes and people saying no. Ideally I wanted to hear a few U1 owners say that theirs winds as they screw down the crown. Case closed then.
Do you own a U1? Does yours do it?

Re: Sinn U1 winding whilst screwing the crown down

It’s not a Sellita issue. I’ve had watches do this with ETA and Seiko movements as well. While it is probably not ideal, they’ve all worked properly otherwise. I agree that it's not a big deal but I just want to know if it's normal operation with the U1. I have a returns period as this is a brand n...

Re: Sinn U1 winding whilst screwing the crown down

Some people say yes and some say no. I'm trying to find the definitive answer and my Internet search is coming up blank. Can any other U1 owners with a Sellita movement chip in?

Sinn U1 winding whilst screwing the crown down

Is it normal for the movement to handwind whilst screwing the crown back down into the case?
I have a brand new U1 with the SW200-1 movement.

I've just bought the U1. I wish it had the same SW300 movement the U50 has.
