Boschett Cave Dweller II ... new and improved???

I was fortunate enough to be able to receive one of the last Boschett Cave Dweller original series I's available, new. It has been a great fun watch to wear, being both understated and bold at the same time ... classic clean lines meets chunky diver. Never any problems or issues ... the Miyota 8215 ...

Re: Teach me about lumtecs.

I had a lovely M5. I think I paid 400 USD for it. Very nice PVD, double sapphire crystals, one tinted, one clear. Came with a bracelet and a strap, tho I supplied my own :p . The lume was fantastic, especially for a phantom. All parts, as far as I know with the exception of movements are specificall...

Re: ***Upgrade Tutorial*** Boschett CD I to CD II Clasp retrofit

Thanx fellas. I had an opportunity to spend some photo time with all 11 variations of the new CD II recently. The photo section has been updated on the official site but is still somewhat incomplete. I can post a review ... maybe compare the CD I to the CD II ... post some candid shots, if folks are...

***Upgrade Tutorial*** Boschett CD I to CD II Clasp retrofit

When the Cave Dweller II came out, the biggest improvements among the many Boschett made IMHO were the bezel engraving and the new clasp with divers extension. While my CDI has a perfectly adequate standard flip-lock clasp, it’s kind of normal, and expected in a diver in this price range. Not terrib...

Re: New Diver ... but you can't have one :p (Orsa Sea Viper)

Berg has restructured the color break-up to offer 50 blue dials, 25 orange, and now 25 black. There are no pics of the black, only a graphic. I find the black really reminiscent of the final Monstrum he put out. May help the color challenged as well  . Same bezel as the orange: http://img.photo...

Re: New Diver ... but you can't have one :p (Orsa Sea Viper)

The case shape is not for me, but I kind of like the blue dial. It's what I imagine Fisher-Price might make if they designed a mechanical watch. :banplz: What movement is in these? Great pics! Yeah, like I said I usually steer clear of rounded cases as well, but this one in the real, impres...

Re: Confessions of a Stupid Big watch owner...

A fun read  . You got some huge meats there dude ... a 50mm watch looks "normal" sized on you.

I think mostly because of your "It’s kind of cool in that ugly sort of way" comment, your next experiment should involve wearing a bulldog on your wrist that barks the time :gayumbrella: .

New Diver ... but you can't have one :p (Orsa Sea Viper)

... well, okay, I think Berg will let you go put a deposit on one ;) . Only in pre-order stage now I believe. I had the opportunity to photo Orsa's new Sea Viper hot off the proverbial presses just last week. Not affiliated with them, just do some photo work. I tried to give the Orsa some tough love...

Re: Maegladon??

This is actually the FIRST Benarus I HAVEN'T purchased. The original dial design Ralf started with was spectacular, then it got "dumbed down" as folks chimed in on that spectacular website  . You know, I hated the lugs at first too ... until I realized they were just on the wrong watch. I ...

Re: BENARUS SEA DEVIL?

I like mine and feel it was a good value for the money. Of course you can only wear one strap at a time and I am usually a bracelet guy, so this one was good right out of the box. The styling is nice and simple but yet it has a ton of presence. It is HUGE mostly because of the thickness. I had a guy...

Re: So I had this cheapo Wal-Mart leather strap lying around..

love that tag! but rather it deserves rubber IMO. :salute: +1,000,000 Divers on leather just always look "off" to me. Not very functional either. I love a nice custom leather strap, but not on a diver. Certain "exotics" look okay to my eye, but only if the animal is water-based ... like stin...

Re: Chronos or 3-hands?

I have been trying to love chronos for may years but always flip 'em and go back to my plain dials :p . This year however I have started seeing some really interesting chronos based on the Sea-gull ST-19 movement, which is supposedly bulletproof. I like me a nice handwind sometimes. Coming around bu...

Re: DIY: How far...

I swapped the movement in this watch last year. Had a Miyota 8215 and put in this 2824. Had to mod the original hands to fit the ETA, also had to set new dial feet. I have often wondered about this mod as the 2824's are not terribly expensive individually. What specifically did you have to do with ...

I've always loved the hands on these ... and the dial work is really cool. I've never owned an Invicta but if they'd have put an engraved bezel in this one, they might have had me. Nice shots  .

Personally I can't afford to add a gen Doxa to my stable right this minute ... if I found one of these i...

Hello, I am new here. I used to lurk a lot on the old forum but never posted. I am hopelessly addicted to watch collecting and in particular seem to collect divers the most. I hope to contribute more here than I did in the past (none) . Some may know me from WUS, or maybe recognize some of my ...
