Re: WRUW - Sat Feb 13, 2016
The wife hooked me up for Valentines Day with this sweet Deep Blue Master 1000!!! I've been looking at this one for a while now just hadn't pulled the trigger on it! Great gift from a great woman!

Re: First link change for the new guy!
Nice work, bro! I wish you had told me when you got that watch that it didn't fit right. I can't believe you've been wearing with the dive extension out this whole time!... I haven't been...here's the funny thing about that, I'm so new I didn't even know it had that extension until last month. It w...

Re: First link change for the new guy!
Good work! That's one of the trickier one's - until you need two screwdrivers. It's good to always have a couple NATO's on hand in case you can't size the bracelet. LOL and Josh's pic of Andre the Giant is totally appropriate! You should have seen me and my huge hands working on that bracelet. Kind...

Re: First link change for the new guy!
Congrats Steve! Those little collars on the outer links are a pain. If you ever do one with the collar in the center link you will think it's a piece of cake after doing these. Good choice on the OM. Just a fun quirky watch and is why I keep mine. Thanks again David! I've had this since Brad and I ...

Re: First link change for the new guy!
There was a point where I decided it was easier to detach the bracelet from the watch. When I was putting it back together, I knew the issue I'd had earlier with the spring bar, so I made a backstop on my desk to keep that sucker from flying across the room lol  Score!!! It was a success! :rock...

First link change for the new guy!
 So I took the advice you guys gave me on http://www.thedivewatchconnection.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=50004 and the links I got from David via Brad and I successfully added them. First time for me working on anything like this. Some advice--Watch the videos before doing anything! A...

Re: Repair & Maintenance tools for the Novice
Hey Steve, fellow Kentuckian here. For starters buy a cheap watch tool kit off the bay for about $15. It's more than paid for itself for me as I now do all my own bracelet sizing. Brad now has your extra links also. Watch Repair Tool Kit Opener Link Remover Spring Bar Free Hammer w Carry Case Does ...

Repair & Maintenance tools for the Novice
Hey gang, just like I said in my intro last week, I'm a novice. And I mean, so new that I have never changed straps/bracelets or batteries in my quartz models by myself. So, I'd like to learn to do a basic strap or bracelet change and realize I'd need to have a specific tool besides my Gerber knife ...

Re: New guy from KY
I'm with you, I dislike all the 007 references on the Seamasters. Dial with 007 all over it, hate it. 007 on the end of the second hand, hate it (I also dislike the Olympic logo on the end of the second hand but generally like stuff on the end. Strange huh?) Bond family crest all over the dial and ...

Re: New guy from KY
Oh no you di'n't! Ok so the Aliens reissue is ugly as sin but it's at least got a cool dial. And the chrono functions are nice. There is no shortage of bad Omega Bond movie themes watches out there. I'm still waiting for one with a laser. ;) I actually like the face of that model but that big lug h...

Re: New guy from KY
Thanks again guys. Definitely feeling the love! LOL :stir: So...I figure since we're still getting to know one another I might as well say this early, not meaning to step on any toes. But I'm not a fan of movie theme based watches. Don't get me wrong, I love the Omega Bond Seamaster 2226.80.00, but ...

Re: New guy from KY
welcome Steve :salute: you'll soon learn that not all seikos are entry level, but you'll find most of us here appreciate seiko's entire vertical scope. it's a strong selling point for me that there are very few "watch snobs" here, and most members at least look for the value in everything at every ...

Ah that's like a scene from Deliverance! (which wasn't Kentucky, by the way) ;) I have to admit, the banjo song went through my head a few times on our Southern trip. At one point we were harassed by a guy with a hook for an arm, but I'm pretty sure that was WV. This rapid is actually i...

Re: New guy from KY
Thanks again all. Brad warned me about some of you LOL. And to finish his police/military thought, I'm a former Marine and a retired state police sergeant. Website on my profile is my bill payer now. I own Seikos because their entry level and I like them, but I'm an Omega and Tag fan. I like Rolexes...
