Re: Help wanted

Looks v good to me. I think the odd gear colour is to do with the photo setup rather than reality. Bracelet seems to be in incredible good nick. Very little stretch. Price reflects the highly polished case I'd say. Eg left top lug. So case not v crisp as they say. That's the big differential with pr...

Re: new member mr_gray

I don't own the sub anymore so really it's a HULK and a Speedie. And I feel very lucky to have that HULK. Alot of stuff came together for that to happen. I was looking at "classic threads" and though I could not read the thread, I found the note left for Nick on his windscreen. Now I get the "are yo...

Re: Your Holy Grail

For something I might be actually able to achieve it is the BP. and i really can't think about others right now because i'm so focussed on it and trying to get one. although every time i see a vintage one i wish i had a time machine or had been into this watch stuff 20 years earlier like that winean...

Re: new member mr_gray

hi there and thanks for the great welcome. really liked this "It's my fault. I didn't have my glasses before and I thought your name was "m_gray"." we don't use the term much in australia but i do believe that is a zinger! enjoying digging around the threads. some of the opinions on watch aesthetics...

Re: new member mr_gray

Took me ages to get that terpits. I'm clearly out of practice. Picked the wrong handle for this forum. Should have gone with my second choice.

Can anyone explain the nick reference? An inside joke relating to a light footed fellow perhaps?

I'm slow off the mark today.

Too much of it seemed real I thought. Like when he's drinking in a hotel room describing another failed interview for a job and seems genuinely on the edge. If it is parody he's pretty talented I reckon.

Re: new member mr_gray

Sorry. That was too vague given we're dealing with a wider community than my family Xmas get together. Just that kick is my son and I also have a best friend who's a nick.

i've never seen anything like it so can't help with the shipping etc. but may i say great looking dial/hand combo and what an OX of a watch! robust is not a robust enough word to describe the obvious heft of that watch. solid. very very solid. what is the weight i wonder?

Hi All, I just joined and watched the mandatory orientation and hitler videos. Very funny doesn't do it justice. Uncontrolled laughter isn't an every day occurrence these days so it was pretty special. Two odd years of being on slightly more restrained forums was released in ~ 10 mins. Felt great! V...

Re: Hello from a new member - ARCHIELUXURY

i wish archie had stayed involved. his youtube videos are funny and it was amazing to watch him melt down over time. although distressing at times also of course. he has natural humour but doesnt know it which is a good combo if you ask me. my favourite is the sitting in grass with a camera tight on...
