New Longines Skin Diver 42 300 Meters
New Longines Skin Diver 42 300 Meters
Have you had a chance to see this cool new Longines everyone?
Longines looks to be taking us back to 1959 to their first diver with this
Heritage model named the Skin Diver 42 300 Meters. With a 42mm stainless
steel case, 300m WR, AR coated sapphire crystal, nice unidirectional bezel,
and domed grained dial with Super-Luminova coated hands, and markers,
Longines caliber L888.2, vintage style black rubber strap, Milanese mesh,
leather strap, and more everybody.
Have some pictures, and Timezone's link here guys...

There's something about this that I quite like, but there's something about it that isn't right. Maybe it's the faux lume effect on the bezel - that seems wrong to me. The faux vintage lume on the dial I could live with. Dunno - it just looks a bit 'off'.

All índices could be shorter. Seems too busy.
And it should have been 40mm
Edit: I was on Tapatalk and was only able to see the renderings. The real life pictures look way better, but if I remember correctly, it had a ridiculously long L2L.

I don’t know. Something about how it looks in pictures makes me not like it. The lugs look very long and crown looks like it sticks out to much.

I posted this photo in the original thread. For better or worse, the reissue looks pretty consistent with the original.

I think it’s cus we are used to seeing more brushed or polished stainless steel surrounding those bezel inserts. I assume it all comes together much nicer in real life but I’ve been wrong before.tattoo chef wrote:I don’t know. Something about how it looks in pictures makes me not like it. The lug-to-lug is too long, just like the other retro Skin Diver. I'd own one of those if it didn't look ridiculous hanging off both sides of my wrist.

It's a cool looking watch, but too much for my little wrist.

"The Longines Skin Diver Watch". Glad they cleared that up.
