H2O Orca Torpedo

Image

My Orca torpedo arrived last Monday and I have been wearing it for a little over a week now. This one has the new Torpedo case in the Orca product lineup which in my opinion is one of the nicest Orca cases yet. For people not familiar with the modular Orca cases, they are designed to have removable / interchangeable self contained movement modules. The new Torpedo case is gorgeous with it's sweeping polished lug contours. There are many different options and variations to custom build the Orca watches. I chose the domed sapphire bezel with inclining ceramic bezel insert. The integrated curvature of the crystal and bezel is a thing of beauty. I also chose the new dial design with it's rounded hour marker features.

Orca Torpedo Specs:

CASE MATERIAL: 316L Stainless Steel
CASE BACK: Sapphire Display Case Back in standard configuration
CASE DIAMETER: 44mm
CASE HEIGHT: 16.50mm with the double domed 6.70mm sapphire front crystal
CASE LENGTH: 53.50mm
LUG WIDTH: 24mm
WR: 2000M (WR is officially certified by German test laboratory)
CROWN: 8mm screw down type
MOVEMENT: SWISS ETA 2892A2, Automatic, 28.800 bph, Power Reserve 42h, Hacking Second

STANDARD ACCESSORIES:
Handmade 5mm thick black calf leather strap with black stitching and H2O CNC buckle
Hex screw driver
Security case incl. vent
Warranty Card

The Torpedo wears extremely comfortably on the optional bracelet, it is such a nice bracelet with the ratcheting clasp it is the only way I have worn it so far. I will eventually try it on an Isofrane and probably a Rios 1931 "Just" strap as well.

Of course this thread would be worthless without any photos so here are a few to get things started. If any of you other H2O Orca fans ordered the Torpedo post them here in this thread.

Cheers.

I nearly ordered one of these. I regret missing the pre order deal. I'd love to see it on an Isofrane, I rarely wear bracelets.

I wish I had gotten in as well. This is my favorite of H2O watches.

Your photos are fantastic as usual and the watch case is perfect. Love it.

What was the preorder price?

This is my favorite H2O as well -- actually, it's the only one I like, and I like it a lot.

I'd prefer a slightly different dial/hand combo, but the case design is great!

I agree this is one of my favorite H20 watches hands down. I am not to sure about the bracelet though, it would look cooler with rounder links, kind of like the case edges on the watch. Right now it looks like how the Halios Bluering bracelet and case work didn't exactly match each others styles.

This would look phenomenal on a Iso.

Beautiful watch DEMO ! Holy cow, it is something how every time these
guys come out with a watch, it's another level beyond the last one they
created. These actually seem like the kinds of watches you expect to see
50+ years from now. They way they build upon older vintage ideas with
the case, bezel, and marker styles is epic !!!

Almost is like dive watch meets alien technology. Unbelievably nice !

Huge congratulations there to you !

Dam Dave, killer killer photos! Watch pRoN right there baby!

There was no pre-prder price this folks, it was just added to the webstore and there was a couple month wait time for the torpedo and new sterile bezel option to be delivered. The only bonus at the time was that if you ordered ANY complete Orca watch you would have gotten a free movt upgrade from 2824 to 2892 FOC which is a sweet ass incentive.

I'll post some of mine in various configs.

Here's mine. Didn't have time to do a real photoshoot. These are iPhone shots in the light studio with iPhone photo editing tweaks.

I knew you'd have something appropriate. Don't forget to use an enormous buckle.

Nice set up, Dave. That engine turning on the clasp adds a very nice touch. Great call on matching the bezel to the domed sapphire crystal, also.

No, though it may appear to the eye that way but when you turn the bezel your fingers grip the teeth correctly.

Danny, love that decorated GMT movement.

That RIOS strap looks really good too. I'm going to have to try that combo.

That looks great, Danny. Not the women's bezel, but the rest.
