Never Forget.
Never Forget.
Never Forget. Ever.
God rest the souls of those lost 14 years ago - and those who perished fighting for justice.
While it's not Veterans Day, a special salute to those of you who have gone into harms way.

Re: Never Forget.
I honestly thought another (taller) tower was a stupid idea given how long it took to evacuate the Twin Towers.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but more would have survived if the people in the towers were evacuated immediately. That mistake will never be made again.marchone wrote:I honestly thought another (taller) tower was a stupid idea given how long it took to evacuate the Twin Towers.

I hope you're right Chris. My GF at the time was a Japanese citizen working for a Japanese corp four blocks south of the towers that morning. When I got her on the phone she told me their boss ordered them to stay in place. I convinced her to disobey him and make it over to the East side to get away and back home on West 49th St.

Remember the victims. But also remember who and what perpetrated and supported that Evil. Time has not lessened their resolve or hatred.

Re: Never Forget.
Most thought the first plane was an accident, which explained a lot of the delay. Also, people received conflicting information regarding evacuation due to the chaos. Bottom line, no one thought the towers themselves would actually collapse. Just tragic.CGSshorty wrote:Hindsight is always 20/20, but more would have survived if the people in the towers were evacuated immediately. I am glad to see they just completed the memorial to United 93. For some reason, that story chokes me up most of all.
Re: Never Forget.
Definitely will always remember Hoppy. Can't believe it was 14 years ago.
Feels like it was just yesterday sir.

Put my flag at half staff today. I was doing my 2 weeks with the Naval reserve with Special Warfare Unit 4 in Puerto Rico when this happened some of the personnel I worked with had family in the trade towers and they did not stop worrying until they knew they survived the attack.

They should show the events in real time each year.

I was a young kid but remember this day very well. Things haven't been the same since.

I vividly remember watching the events unfold while I got ready for work. My prayers are with those who lost someone that day and with those we lost.

I will never forget.
We drove by the Pentagon this weekend while running errands. My wife and I repeated the story of the attack to our kids.

Please remember that the U.S. has had two significant 9/11's.
