Australian watch week
So http://timeandtidewatches.com/ are doing Australian Watch Week, both in print and a GTG. Anyone coming to that in Melbourne on Friday?
I am. Decided a little 11th hour, but I am curious to meet some other people behind the Australian brands.
A little write up on the CD-2, http://timeandtidewatches.com/hands-on- ... t-diver-2/seems they liked it. The CD-1 is much nicer, so will show them that Friday night. Oh, and there will be beer.

That looks cool Todd.... I've seen a bit of local hype around "Haigh & Hastings" recently with the Gallipoli Centenary watch they released.
Hope you get some good press out of it

Re: Australian watch week
I had the good fortune to be able to attend the GTG, and to meet Todd in person, (Tony with the walking stick). It was great to be able to handle the CD-1 & CD-2.

I think I will. I enjoyed the night and was interesting to meet people and also the people behind the brands.GGD wrote:That looks cool Todd.... I've seen a bit of local hype around "Haigh & Hastings" recently with the Gallipoli Centenary watch they released.

Some of the Australian watches I also liked as well.
Was impressed with how much work some local brands have done

Re: Australian watch week
Nice write up, but I thought you only made 75 of the CD2's. How many CD1's are in the works Todd?
Although not Aussie, I think Magrette watches make for an excellent value in watches from your region. Although cheaper, some of their offerings have pushed the envelope a lot imo.

Re: Australian watch week
There is only 75 CD-2 watches, but the CD-1 will be staying and done in a few different models of itself. maybe even Ceramic if I can put that togetherstreetracer101 wrote:Nice write up, but I thought you only made 75 of the CD2's. How many CD1's are in the works Todd?

NZ is close enough I guess and Magrette do some all right stuff.

Re: Australian watch week
I took some pics but with my old smartphone and poor lighting in the joint I am unsure to post them or not.
I would describe the lighting in the rooms we were in as suitable for taking a bobfocs on a date (body of baywatch face of crime stoppers)

Yes it was a little dark. Almost like a doggy meeting place of sorts, not that I would know about such placesamckiwi wrote:I took some pics but with my old smartphone and poor lighting in the joint I am unsure to post them or not.
