New Casios - Basel 2015 - Pathfinder & Mudman

Post by hoppyjr » Sat Mar 21, 2015 2:11 am

I haven't seen these mentioned, but for our Casio loving friends....

First off is the PRW-3500; it's the next generation from the PRW-2500/2600, combining the larger time display of the 2600 and using the new v3 sensors. Specs suggest it's about the same size as the 2500/2600. I have the black/stainless and black/orange incoming. I suspect Carlo will like these too. The stainless bezel is reported to be actual stainless, but I've asked (on WUS) for clarification. These use 22mm lugs, so an Isofrane or NATO strap will work well. I used to wear my PRW-2500 on NATO's and it was outstanding. These are large, but relatively lightweight. 200m water resistance too.

Casio also introduced a new Mudman GWG-1000 but it's apparently not available yet. Multiple o-rings to keep it sealed up, 200m water resistance, dual display. Full ABC functionality.

All of them look cool to me.

The WUS thread also shows caseback shots. No more plastic overlay, these have a smooth stainless steel back, which is what i prefer.

You might be right. I guess that could be for starters, then go down to $300 and then lower, just like the Cockpit series and the Rangeman... meaning higher at first and then settle down a bit.

The Pathfinder models (above) are around $275-325 street price.

Are the lugs standard 22mm, or still 18mm forcing use of OEM or handmade straps?

I'm wearing 22mm stuff with no adapters. Standard lugs.
