It's a turbo right? 2.5L turbo? Most likely some sort of chip exists. Chips have he biggest improvements on turbo and SC cars. They don't do much for NA cars, unless you can feel 5 - 10 HPPoliMalaka wrote:'05 Subaru Legacy. Looking to mod it a bit. Anyone know if there's a chip available to cut out the grandmainess?

Ain't that the truth. Best they can do is, on cars with adaptive distributors, advance the timing a little so you can run premium.ElChingon7 wrote:It's a turbo right? 2.5L turbo? Now if its turbo you can increase the max boost.

Re: What do you drive???
Ah... Thanks for the response. It is not a turbo. Honestly I'm not interested in going fast, just don't like the non linear acceleration. When I want to go I want it then not later. The rest of the time, I want fuel economy.

Don't screw with it then. A chip isn't going to make any difference other than killing warranty if there's any left.

Re: What do you drive???
Been driving this one for a few years until a couple months ago, the wife was tired of her suburban and wanted a new car!! Told her no friggin' way and gave her my baby!!! Now i'm driving one of my company trucks, a 2006 Ford F150 4X4 super crew. Really didnt need to be driving a BMW and being in the industrial-agriculture business should be driving a pickup, but do miss cruising in the 530i!!
The one good thing is i dont have to keep this one as clean, its a pickup!!

Re: What do you drive???
Thanks to the Mini being "minaturized," I was driving this the last couple days...
Then its tranny went wacko, so now I am forced to drive this...
At least the Hyundai had XM radio.
Since the Mini will probably be pronounced dead soon, and I've decided to wait until the weather (and my finances) are more conducive to the purchase of a new Challenger, I am looking for cheap transpo right now...maybe a more sturdy version of my current Cherokee XJ...so I can swap over all my equipment and new lift components.
EDIT: The Mini is dead. Long live the...whatever else I decide to drive. USAA called & left the news on my voicemail, now I just have to call back and find out how little they plan to give me for the little beast. So the new plan is go ugly early...I have found a '99 Cherokee with only 24K miles on it. I should be able to swap over the best stuff off my '90 PLUS I can uncrate the brand new 4.5 Rubicon Express SuperFlex lift I bought a couple years ago (which has been collecting dust in my garage). The '90 will then be a good rolling project...for someone else.
I will still be keeping my eye on the Challenger. Trouble is, it seems that sweet HEMI Orange paint was a 2009 only color, so I might have to settle for Plum Crazy Purple if I go for the SRT8, no White, no Orange...that Purple will take a lot of adjustment on my part, or there is Detonator Yellow.

Re: What do you drive???
This is my newest baby...
I sold two of my motorcycles, but I still have this one (although it is also currently for sale)...
And the wife drives a '98 Dodge minivan (the blue one across the street in the above pic). I offered to buy her a new one but she loves her van and refuses to part with it
