Tapatalk annoyance

Post by logan2z » Sat Oct 11, 2014 1:35 pm

Love the app, use it all the time. But since I moved to Android there's been one issue that's really annoying. The app doesn't seem to retain my password for more than a minute or two, so if I switch forums I'm constantly re-entering my password. The latest update made this problem even more annoying. Now it's forgetting my user ID too and I'm having to enter that over and over as well.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is there some setting I'm overlooking that will force the app to retain these settings? I didn't have either of these issues with the last iOS version of the app I used.

Weird, I haven't had that issue yet. Is that on iOS or Android?

I quit using it because of so many issues I had, mainly loading really really slow. I just use the chrome or opera browser now.

Tell Knome...he can fix it...I know he can... ;)

Thanks for the back button observation, could be a hidden inconsistency in the interface, if so we'll get that fixed.

As for image uploads crashes, send me a message what device you're using and if you're uploading attachments or to our built in imageshack service and we'll try to hunt down that bug as well.

You're welcome. Seems to be a good workaround for now.

Ken,
I have a Moto-X. I am trying to upload pics via the tapa image uploading feature. Also, do you know how to make them normal sized on forum posts as opposed to the super sized images that it defaults to.

back button/logout button mix up thankfully was not a bug, I never used that button much myself, just like I never log out of DWC on my browser.

For the image issue, a size selection feature would be handy, I'll pitch it.

Thanks Ken, my bad. I didn't realize that icon on the toolbar was not only taking me back to the profile screen but was also logging me out. Wasn't obvious (to me) that the icon was the 'logout' icon instead of just the the 'take me back' icon. No clear indication of that in the UI.

Thanks Ken. Image size selection would be great.

Updates:

Image resolution will be automatically limited from getting too out of hand (full res uploads) in both upcoming releases. This was already supposed to be included, but it was buggy on a more than a few models of android phone and a a few iOS devices.

iOS version should be approved sometime next week and and will include support for resolutions on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Plus a bunch of other stuff, too many to list here. New profile page acts as your list of followed forums, bug where avatars didnt upload is fixed, but I have to keep an eye on this issue.

Confirmation pop-up message when you hit the "logout" button ("are you sure you want to log out?") will be added in a subsequent release.

When I upload pics of my watches on NATO, Tapatalk seems to make my watches look cheaper.

You need to turn off "reality mode"

Yea, reality mode is a pervasive problem, our existential app updates keep being rejected by the apple app store.

Are you using a Tapatalk ID? DWC shouldn't have ads because Mat set it to not display any. WUS might have chosen to enable them though....
