Agreed. I wouldn't mind a no-date version.

For some reasons, Mike Kobold is good in spotting manly design and color.

Where is this SMG model? I can't find it on the Kobold website. The SMG-2 has its crown at 8.

It's not on the site yet. Check their Facebook page.

Thanks, Chris.

Ah. SMG-2 Desert. I like it. Been looking for a GMT to fit into my short list.

I think it would be better without the date function. Not for aesthetic reasons but I don't understand a date function in a GMT if you're tracking a time zone on the other side of the International Date Line. It is too confusing at a glance.

I would assume it is PVD.

Interesting. Looks almost brown and ceramic coating-ish.

It is tan/brown. PVD and DLC can be done in any color you like, not just black.

I think Aquadive had a brown Dlc crown at some point. Apparently the shade of the watch, shiny vs matte, and a pigment can do some cool stuff

Kobold quoted me $500 to have a no date dial produced. Pass.

Since we're on the subject....

This is the blue dial Soarway Diver, brushed case, that they made for me. I'm contemplating my options.....
