Show your Bremont(s)

Post by mattjmcd » Fri Feb 14, 2014 10:34 pm

I think every other sub forum on every major board has a similar running thread. Post some pics of your Bremonts, gents...

Both sold now, but fondly remembered

The VERY RARE MB 1.5 - only 20 in existence

Special engraved case back for the ATG Forum, yellow second hand & yellow indices on the internal bezel like the MB 1

had the SM and it was just Ok---hated the strap..
Image

Had the Alt 1-C--liked this one but short strap was to short..
Image

the MB2 was the first and best-- this one I went custom Greg Stevens.
Image

wish the standard straps weren't so long....but I could see myself owning another if the pricing
doesn't go sky high...

I agree with Mike. For a company with maybe the best OEM straps in the biz, the supermarine strap is a massive disappointment.

Really? I don't mind the rubber strap  it is a touch too long (she didn't say that) but I find it comfortable.

Maybe I need to finally put the bracelet on

As far as the watch, I think it's beautifully crafted. From the shape of the lugs, bezel, crown guard, and applied indices to the case, textured dial. Yeah, I love this watch.

Part of it is the fact that Bremont's other straps (leather, canvas, and Temple Island) are so nice. I just find the supermarine strap not very attractive in comparison. It pales next to an isofrane and many other OEM rubber straps.

I love the updated supermarine strap. Fits the watch perfectly with the dial design. I wore my blue sm500 pretty much exclusively on rubber.

Damn, I want another.

Show your Bremont(s)

Strangely, I do not like their curved end leather straps at all. Far too thick and I think curved but non-fitted ends look great when laid flat for pics but silly on the wrist. JLC MC rubber straps - same deal.

Flying close formation with the DC66...

Is it just me, or do these offerings just crush their respective competition from IWC? For me, that's hard to say since I am a Schaffhausen koolaid drinker, but IMO it's a fact. MBII> IWC MarkXX, and DC66>IWC Flieger Chrono

I'm surprised by how many don't like the supermarine rubber. I find it to be one of the most comfortable rubber straps I've owned. Especially when compared to say a PAM rubber that just never seems to loosen up the way I would like it to.

Matt, didn't you have a P51 at one point?
That watch is one hot watch with more unique design features that are out together extremely well. I'd like to own one at some point.

I like the Bremont rubber as well David. I think it only works well on larger wrists. Supposedly the new one is even better.
