netflix

Post by River Rat » Sun Nov 10, 2013 1:40 pm

How do you get netflix onto your TV. I been thinking of getting netflix cheaper way to watch movies and I read you need to get some thing like Chromecast that plug into your HDTV that gets the netflix signal from your computer and I guess there are other ways but this looks like a easy way for me to do it any one try it ?

Roku is definitely a nice box and has a range of pricing/feature options from $50 to $100. They've got decent retail penetration and can be found at Target/Best Buy/etc. in addition to mail order via Amazon.

AppleTV is another option, but works best if you're invested in the Apple/iTunes ecosystems.

You could alternately hook up a computer to the TV.

Also, many DVD/Bluray players and some TVs have embedded Netflix apps.

Finally you could use a console game players (Xbox 360, PS3) if you have one. I'm trying to imagine Mike murdering a bunch of 13 year olds in Call of Duty / Modern Warfare.

Roku or Chromcast will be the best way to go.

I use the Netflix that is built into my bly ray players. Two of them are on wi fi and the third is wired to the router. That new thing from Chrome looks great.

I use Apple TV, but we are Apple whores. Though Eric will be happy to know I have a Surface 2 coming tomorrow.

I hear good things about the Chromecast as well...

I am a bit of a gaming nerd so the PS3 was the natural Netflix player of choice.

If I'm not mistaken, you will have to pay for Xbox live if you want to get it via Xbox

Well I got chromecast and hooked it up today I watched this video because I was having a hard time.
http://phandroid.com/2013/07/25/chromec ... asy-steps/
Well the video said to down load google chrome as a browser and it would be more easy to stream video form you laptop to the TV so I did and dam after I down loaded it all I got was pop ups BIG TIME well I deleted chrome as a browser it sucks on the lap top. But I got every thing to work right on the Galaxy Tab so I will stream netflex from that I tested it with free stuff from youtube to make sure it works. Just glad I got rid of those pop ups was on the forum hit a topic and a pop up come up WTF screw that chrome browser and the pop ups that came with it. I had to search the lap top for extra stuff that came with that chrome browser look for new icons to find out new down loads you did not have before to delete :scream:
