What are your horological plans for 2013?
Re: What are your horological plans for 2013?
Oh yeah, my plans to sit tight this year could be blown up by something Panerai announces at SIHH in a few weeks.
Re: What are your horological plans for 2013?
This and perhaps I will be done for awhile.

With a lack of discipline like I have - the "plan" tends to flex A LOT

Good choice!dnslater wrote:

Bought one last year and sold it only to buy another brand new early this year. This watch is a must in my rotation.

Hey, in my case anything that comes in will be preceded by a piece going out. I really am going to try and thin the herd to a core group of keepers this year and use whatever money I wind up saving on the house.JizJizJiz wrote:AC and LT, you guys are both out of control .
Maybe.

Really, why plan when you can react? It's worked for the Army for a really, really long time ... just saying.

I think I'll sell a few in 2013, and if I can find a nice pre-owned version, "invest" in a PP 5726 (fade in Supertramp with "Dreamer")....

Sweet, Gordo. That would be a beautiful piece in your already incredible collection. Good luck with the hunt, mate.Hornet01 wrote:I think I'll sell a few in 2013, and if I can find a nice pre-owned version, "invest" in a PP 5726 (fade in Supertramp with "Dreamer")....

For 2013 I've only got one plan. I'm still on the hunt for another Certina DS-3 1000 so if you guys know of one that needs a new home..... I find myself looking at other watches hoping that they will fill the void for a while but I'm kidding myself. I got it bad for the DS-3!

Something from Sinn like the UX or EZM3, or a Tuna.
Re: What are your horological plans for 2013?
None of these were actually in the plan. At least not the short term oneandy tims wrote:With a lack of discipline like I have - the "plan" tends to flex A LOT
The 757 UTC doesn't really count, as I'm selling my non UTC version to my Brother-in-Law

I have had the same plan for the last few years. One day, I may actually follow it.andy tims wrote:With a lack of discipline like I have - the "plan" tends to flex A LOT

Going to play it by ear Ed. There are honestly so many watches on the
list that it's hard to pick what to go after. Older watches, and also new
watches always seem to pop up. Making it almost impossible to decide
what to add.

I plan to "release the hounds"! I said I'd do this a few years running, but it's time...time to liberate some watch box queens:
Stowas. Certinas. Breitlings. Zinexs. Doxas. Seikos. Mühle Glashüttes.
I haven't worn some in years. Beautiful pieces just sitting around, a few with some nice DWC provenance. Time to clean house.
Sorry...no Sinns. Those all stay here

Well after getting in the Damasko I'm not sure if it's a keeper. May sell it and just go back with the tried and true 556. I got it right the first time on that one and have been trying to get back since. So Sinn 556 and possibly an ezm3 for me for 2013.

I am thinking of a JLC Navy Seal, EII42 white, Black Bay and an older GMT Master II Pepsi...that is it, well, maybe.
Re: What are your horological plans for 2013?
If that includes a DS2 PH200m, can I have first refusal please?hazmatman wrote:I plan to "release the hounds"! I said I'd do this a few years running, but it's time...time to liberate some watch box queens:

Haha. When the time comes, I'll keep you in mind Zack, but I was happy to get my hands on a blue dial YM in the first place...JizJizJiz wrote:Awesome choice . I'm hoping 2013 brings me either or both of these;
and
Not sure if I want another BS100 or the BS300... Obviously I want both but sadly can only afford one or the other.

I thought it said whore-ological.
Re: What are your horological plans for 2013?
Last year about this time, I started the year with a Rolex EII white dial. This year, hoping that Panerai is an auspicious start.
Although I do love the Cali dial... the OEM Strap sucks and Panerai should cutback on the faux patina.
