Here's a great resource for Heuer:
http://www.onthedash.com/fakes.shtml

Here's one for Omega 300:
http://scubawatch.org/hallofshame.html

The "original" Seiko Divers Reference (Kevin Chan's):
http://www.makedostudio.com/watches/sei ... index.html

The "original" Seiko vintage diver buyer's guides as copied form the "original" SCWF:
6217MAS,
http://www.thewatchsite.com/index.php/t ... tml#msg239
6309,
http://www.thewatchsite.com/index.php/topic,153.0.html

Thanks Boss!
Now, Let's see some more...

Excellent resources Mark. Is there one on the SCWF for the 6105?

Good question Brad,

I know there have been a few started in the past on the original website, don't think it ever made it to fruition...unfortunately; although someone may know of another to post.

If you want a date, use the above NSN, if you try to use NIIN 01-364-4042/D, you will probably get a non-dated version, they are more common.

Thanks for your additions, but actually I didn’t miss anything, since I intentionally left out two autos C-Sar & G-Sar (not so common at all), Marathon Type IIs, Smiths, Hamiltons, Benruses, Gallets, Seikos, ChronoSports, Beauchats etc…(which are all obsolute) and all those watches without the NSNs even though they are available via GSA. Cyma and old Precista divers are also pretty much obsolute nowadays. I just listed the most common issue mil watches currently, nothing else.

German armed forces’ wristwatches with the NSNs are stories of their own, IIRC Konrad Knirim has listed them all on his web-site. On the other hand they are relatively easy to list; divers are IWCs (Blancpain FFs and Benruses have been obsolute quite some time already and IWCs on their way being obsolute), “doppel”-chronos (flyback function) are Damaskos?, Tutimas, Heuer-Leonidas, Junghans, Orfinas, Hanharts, Arctos and navigation watches are “old” stuff too; Hamiltons, Gallets and Rolex Explorers.

Diver's:

NSN 6645-12-199-5070 is for IWC Amag Combat Divers (Quartz)

BS, your 6105 is real, don't trip... If anything, with vintage seikos you have to worry about aftermarket dials, hands, bezels etc

Or shitty case work

There's been plenty of fake cases and case backs found on Seiko's as well...'specially coming from the "bay".

I've never read any fake cases for 6105/6309's.

I do remember Jake posted seeing/repairing fake skx007's IIRC. (it might have been another contemporary model, can't remember)
Jake posted details to caseback, case-especially at the lugs, and bezel which were obviously poor replicas.

As for dials/hands/bezels/inserts, there are tons of aftermarket/replicas for Seiko.

I'm no expert, but I've handled several hundred of these and owned at least a hundred over the past 20 years...here's some pics of 2 different Seiko "6105's" with undocumented case styles:
Fakes or modified? Who knows for sure?

 Oh, I know my 6105 is safe, I just was wondering if there was a link to those how to spot a fake 6105 for reference purposes. I know I read over those pages several times over the years in my search for a 6105. ;)

Great post! ....Old I know but, still relevant,
I have a Precista PRS 18q inbound, had the auto (which is excellent) but the 18Q is the closest remake of the Precista 93 (quartz), issued to NATO between 1989 and 1993.
An instance in which the quartz version, beats the auto in originality and (for me) desirability.....

What great resources. I almost got duped on a Tudor a few years back. It looked great. Went to an authorized dealer, they advised me it was fake. I went to visit the guy that sold it to me with a couple of friends and a baseball bat. Got my money back.
I'm not following.
You posted in your "intro" thread that you used to buy fake watches.
Now you're saying you "almost got duped on a fake Tudor a few years back"???
Then our DWC members are saying you still frequent Fake Watch forums?
I'm lost but good luck to you buddy

Yep. I occasionally poke my Mellon in all the forums that I have been a member of since around 2002. I don’t understand why that’s an issue. It’s not like I’m on here trying to pawn off a fake watch. Like I said mate. I’m not a bad guy, just made an error in judgement with the speed posting to sell a couple of watches I had. No harm. Don’t need to sell them. Instead of flaming me you could ask a few questions to get to know me. I get it though. I rubbed you the wrong way. It’s all good. I was buying reps in my 20’s. Wanted to be cock of the walk. Realized it’s stupid. Shit happens. Focus my energies on bicycles now, but the watch bug bit me again. I hope you have a wonderful day.

I did almost get duped on a black bay. Reps have come a long way. One of the few times I got really angry.
