Hamilton Pan Europ......Got one.

Post by snootydog » Tue Mar 23, 2021 7:06 am

Love it when a plan comes together.
I bid on this on eBay yesterday. Described as hardly worn and immaculate condition and it is.
I lost the bidding by miles but this morning a "second chance" email arrived from eBay. Got chatting with the seller who offered a further price drop to do it off eBay if I wanted too. I wouldn't normally do that but I was going to be near where he lives and arranged to meet and pay cash. Checked it out at a motorway service area, all good, done deal and a bargain for cash

Great watch. It's been forever since I met someone for a face to face deal. Did so frequently back in the day.

Question now is what strap options do I have. I've never had a watch with curved spring bars. Can straight ones not be used in it at all?

It will be a tight fit for some leather straps. You will have to try each one out to see.

You really do have to love it when things work out once in a while Andy,
and love it when a plan comes together. 8-) Seriously, it would have
been great if things worked out the first time around, but, things REALLY
turned out terrific just the next day evidently ! :excited: And love how you got
to talk with the owner, and even meet up like that. Sounds like he was a
really cool person, and also kept his watches in pristine condition.
Can't imagine this turning out any better.

Now you have a watch you have wanted for a while, that's now in your
collection. Wow, and it IS beautiful to be honest. Love the whole look,
and just the colors are exceptional. Sending you a COLOSSAL congrats sir !!!

Nice one. I love mine, so much detail going in the dial. I had mine on vintage brown leather strap for ages. Enjoy
