Halios.
Halios.
I met Jason from Halios at the Wind Up event in SF a couple years ago. Red Bar was hosting some reception thing in the Leica store, and my brother and I went.
I recognized him (He was wearing one of the prototype Seaforth GMTs) and introduced ourselves. We had a couple beers and talked for a little while with him and Steve from Raven. Both very good guys.
My brother is a middle school teacher, and also does a bunch of outdoor ed stuff, and while he is into watches he doesn’t have the means to put anything even remotely high end at risk in his sometimes rowdy day to day life.
Anyway, the next morning I get this email from Jason:
I thanked him, obviously, but didn’t really think much of it. I guess I’ve got a certain level of cynicism about things like this and didn’t really think he’d follow through.
Shame on me though. A week ago, he emailed asking for my address. And today, this arrived:
Really incredible.

Re: Halios.
Jason is a genuinely good guy, from my experience. this is a wonderful thing he's done, but it honestly doesn't surprise me at all.
Re: Halios.
I remember you guys saying that about him. Really cool...
Re: Halios.
Great job, Jason!
I’ve never owned a Halios, but hearing stuff like this - done without any forum “look at me” fanfare - makes me want to purchase one.

Had a bit to do with Jason back in the Holotype/Bluering days. Stand-up guy in every respect. And the watches were great.

He's a solid guy.
I bought a Bluering from him and the bezel locked up the next day. He drove out and got me a replacement the day after, met me close to where I live. Super guy.
Great that you're both getting a watch from him.

THIS !
Jason is a great guy, very modest as well.

Re: Halios.
Jason is super cool.. it's been awhile but when I used to visit family in Vancouver, I would give him a call and we would meet up and have a beer.
Re: Halios.
That is awesome. Congrat's on getting the watch.
Re: Halios.
awesome gesture! Jason seems like a super guy in addition to producing very cool watches
