Leather Strap For The Green Willard

Post by mattcantwin » Fri Sep 04, 2020 2:14 pm

I came across a green, RSM leather strap for sale on WUS; decided to give it a go.

I don't like it as much as Art's OD canvas, but it works pretty well and is very comfortable.

Here's a couple of shots:

Looks good Matt. I tried mine on my leather as well and it works very well.
Incidentally I hate when strap makers are lazy and don’t finish their edges. It may look “cool” on a 24mm Panerai specific strap like it’s trying to be all old school and rugged but on other watches they should finish edges and shave/burnish chamfers. Also thickness of the strap should also be proportional to the lug width. Just IMHO, the leather looks great 👍

Nice to hear, coming from you, Art; thanks.

(but, I still like your canvas better)

That’s a lot of green.

I really don't see myself wearing this over Art's strap.

Let me know if you're interested in purchasing it, Joe.

The canvas looks better. Has a lighter tone. The leather is a close match to the dial/bezel and I think the uniform color through dial-bezel-strap is just too much. The canvas gives needed contrast.

I meant the look I want its on a canvas strap. Art is helping with that.

The green leather would look great with a black dial.

It is a beautiful strap, too bad is so thick. Does seems to fit better on the Raven.

On a somewhat related note; I've had the same avatar at WUS for over a decade - a Sinn U1.

I changed it today:

I think I'll be the only one without an Art canvas for this watch.
