A new doxa black lung - carbon fiber....

Stan, don’t you know the first law of physics? Anything that’s fun costs at least eight dollars”

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong

Yep. Price expensive.

But to rationalize....what else is out there with full CF case, bezel and Dial? AP, Hublot, IWC?

I love that one...but like others price is a bit high...I have also heard horror stories of early AP CF cases having issues with peeling, splitting, delamination....I will wait and would not want to be first to find out if these have same problems...perhaps on the secondhand market with a lower price (if they ever get low enough) these may be a viable option for me...

There really is so much to like about this one. You’re right ! :salute:
You still have an all around timeless, or traditional design.
Then you get the sporty meets stealthy side of the coin
with the cool bumblebee treatment. 8-)

Think it’s very nice. Thanks a lot for the look !

The case finish reminds me of a bowling ball.

Very interesting. I love the idea of having the bezel in something that would be more scratch proof similar to how I like the use of carbon or ceramic in APs, but I tend to like Doxa because they have a vintage vibe and this is the opposite of that. I am also not as much of a fan of Doxa yellow versus orange or blue.

The new Doxa rubber strap and clasp look awesome, but I am worried that the strap may be too rigid like other Doxa fitted straps and that clasp looks fairly big and bulky.

Bottom line, not sure this one is for me at at price, BUT it sure makes me more excited to see where Doxa goes next.

+1 this doesn't have the usual DOXA DNA that draws me to the brand. I much prefer their more vintage-inspired steel models.

Helson Shark Diver - they've done CF dials before and you could probably get Peter to mod one and add a CF dial

Also Victorinox being part of Swatch is probably a high quality carbon case for $1K
