New Ball Watches
New Ball Watches
Several new Ball watches available for preorder.
I would be all over this model if it was 42-44mm and dropped the Day indicator. Love the curved dial.
40mm GMT offerings in black, blue, and Pepsi configurations.
43 and 40mm size options as well as various black, blue, and green dial/bezel combinations.

Variety - three different handsets.
Re: New Ball Watches
They always get close, but screw something up. The first one would be so much better without the day window.

I disagree. I love the day/date and think it looks great on this model. First ball watch I really have liked in a long time.CGSshorty wrote:They always get close, but screw something up. The first one would be so much better without the day window.

Re: New Ball Watches
The issue w ball is they have always locked themselves out of many cool design options due to using tubes. They need to dump that shit and open new possibilities while using tubes on some models rather than trying to jam them in most/all models

Re: New Ball Watches
First one doesn’t use tubes. I like the one in the middle and think tubes are part of what makes a Ball, but tubes sure do scare me. A failed tube would piss me off to no end.

30 seconds on my iPhone made it looks better.

Look again. It’s a combo. Hands have tubes, markers are printed superluminova.sierra11b wrote:First one doesn’t use tubes. I like the one in the middle and think tubes are part of what makes a Ball, but tubes sure do scare me. A failed tube would piss me off to no end.

Re: New Ball Watches
Tritium tubes don’t do it for me. Very cool concept but they look odd.
The first one looks typical sub clone good, except for handset with tubes. It might grow on me, might not. First glance those hands are out of place, but maybe they balance with the crown lock?
Probably a better built watch than any of the cheaper brands that I own,

Re: New Ball Watches
Black date wheel, please. The bezel uses “gas tubes” for lume as well. Looks cool, but overly complicated. I wonder about contamination getting trapped between the insert and bezel.CGSshorty wrote:30 seconds on my iPhone made it looks better.

I’d have to get more info or see in person not those don’t look like tubes in the bezel at all, just big blocks of superluminova compound. I could be wrong but they don’t look like tubes.

Re: New Ball Watches
I don't think there is any superluminova. I believe they have gas tubes under the indices on the dial as well as the bezel, so the first one only has the "obvious" tubes on the hands. This is the best use of tubes I've seen on any of their watches since hands aside, you get tritium glow on everything w/o seeing tubes.tattoo chef wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 9:15 amLook again. Not crazy about the crown lock or day/date in white, but could probably live with it. Overall it's attractive and sized nicely.
Edit: found this - "The matte black features for the first time, its iconic gas tubes underneath the main dial paired with the ones on its broad sword handset"

^^^^
I stand corrected. Interesting use of tubes. I’m not a fan of tubes but this seems like a better use of them as far as aesthetics are concerned.

Re: New Ball Watches
You have to hand it to Ball. Even though they have been around a long
time they seem to have this cool way of keeping things fresh, and new.
It's like Matt pointed out with the variety thing. It really is the spice of
life. Although can see why the tubes theme can turn people off, and
think it would be great if they did have tubeless collections also.
It would honestly be the best of both worlds !!
Thanks so much for the news about all of these Roger !

Agree. With my job and weird hours day/date is a must.tattoo chef wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 7:50 amI disagree. I love the day/date and think it looks great on this model. Re: New Ball Watches
Day dates and other complications are what make Ball.... Ball. The 40mm GMT is interesting.
Re: New Ball Watches
Thanks for the link. Real life pictures look much better. Having owned several in the past but I would never buy new. They depreciate too much. The gas tube are awesome at night though.raf42 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 10:29 amI don't think there is any superluminova. Re: New Ball Watches
Do people even buy these watches anymore? This brand has been releasing new stuff at a breathtaking clip for the last 18 months, but you literally never see them on the FS forums, or on owner wrists on IG.
Re: New Ball Watches
I like the GMT one.....I had a Ball Spacemaster a while back---Heaviest watch I have ever owned... I didn't care for the crown protector...
