Lockdown Food Cravings...
Re: Lockdown Food Cravings...
McDonalds drive thru is open as I'm sure you local Hawaiian joint is for ToGo. Why not get what you're craving?
I just got my usual sausage egg cheese mcmuffin this morning as I'm still on the road working. Was deeelish!

Regarding catfish, here's a menu of local place that is typical of a fish and steak house.

A true catfish lover will always order it whole over the fillets and those curly catfish strips you may have seen are not fit for human consumption. We can also get real fancy with catfish (not fried) in nicer restaurants.

Two food workers in my tiny town tested positive for covid and worked multiple shifts while contagious.

Maybe I’m part of the herd immunity of Ca after all?

Since I moved to Montana about 5 years ago I live 45 miles from the Bozeman the only place there's a lot of fast-food and delivery service like pizza and restaurants I use to go to when I lived in a city in California. So I got use to cooking for my self so upped my game cooking. Got a pizza oven and once you learn how to make the right dough that's the key you make it better than delivery. Got a pellet BQ \ smoker and a few other thing to cook better. No I don't miss that shit. Plus lost close to 20 pounds with no 7 elevens on every corner and fast food near me dam they don't even deliver the mail to the house post office box only. You should loose some weight since now your in my position now so mite be a good thing.

Ramen.
There’s a fantastic ramen house in Sacramento called Akebono. It’s a legit 1st generation family-run restaurant that’s always packed to the gills. My 1st generation in-laws love the place and we take them when they’re in town. Next door is a fantastic Japanese bakery called Mahoroba and the best Japanese grocer Otos. It’s a great culinary cluster.
Their tonkastu chashu ramen is legendary as is every other ramen on the menu. It’s a bit far for take out but my wife and I are trying to plan a way to support them this weekend.

Re: Lockdown Food Cravings...
i need to make pizza this weekend. i have a dough ball in the freezer from my favorite pizza place (they sell it frozen) and it's better than anything i've tried to make at home. need to fire up the kamado and grill a pizza. have mozz, pepperoni, red peppers, onions, and a can of tomatoes to make sauce.
i'm pulling that dough out and putting it in the fridge now.

I agree. Looks delicious. My wife and I are decent in the kitchen, but we've never done pizza. I think it's the dough part that has intimidated us or why go to the trouble when we have a favorite pizza place. I'm going to try Greg's suggestion. The top of the pizza can't be that complicated.

We didn't make the dough, we had a few balls in the freezer. The fresh basil makes it so tasty!

Made pulled pork today on the slow cooker, for the first time. Came out very good. Now I want to learn more... guess its one of those things that are easy to do but difficult to master. Receipt recommendations welcome

Solid job. It does indeed not look like pukey shit.

Whatever it takes to (maybe) introduce you to one of the best meals ever created during the isolation.
Re: Lockdown Food Cravings...
Looks great, but looks like you used a loin. Most use the Shoulder/butt as it is fattier and comes apart a bit easier once you get it around 195. Loin is a bit more of a challenge as it can dry out.... but probably less of an issue in the slow cooker vs a smoker.
