Thanks man. It’s a weird experience. They talk about how trucks and rail are the backbone of the country and I’ve heard that for so long, but I never expected my job to qualify me for any type of security clearance beyond the railroad itself.Captdave wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 1:39 pmStay safe and thanks for getting the supplies and food we need to us.Torrid wrote:Working a lot. We'd all better get used to the new norm, this shit is going to drag on for awhile.....

A thousand psi pressure washer kicks ass. The only issue is when your paint is all chipped up and lifting.dukerules wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 1:41 pmThis. Yes, thankfully don’t get too much road salt around here. But yes, if very heavy soil, I’ll do a quick rinse with hose (garden hose but not a pressure washer; I’d be worried to use one of those on a vehicle).Selym wrote:I'd definitely blast off salt and heavy soil with a pressure washer before doing a rinseless wash.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 12:38 pmAren't you in the south. I'm getting salt and other shit off my car 6 months out of the year. I'm dubious of rinse-less wash up here.
I don't hand wash my car in the winter (no garage), so it's not an issue for me.

It's an excellent substitute for toilet paper.

Yep, I told my wife a few weeks ago to plan for 6-9 months. Look at China - they first reported this at the end of December but it had probably been going on there for a month or two. Their curve is just now flattening out and they’ve put in to pretty strict restrictions.
Re: Lockdown Survival - what are you doing?
I can't even talk to my wife about it anymore, she's quit reading/watching the news (probably the smart move). Not sure how we're going to survive 6+ months of being cooped up together, expect I'll be out on my ass before this is all over...BacoNoir wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 3:45 pmdjh1201 wrote:We'd all better get used to the new norm, this shit is going to drag on for awhile.....

Quit watching the news is what I've done for the last several days. My attitude and stress level are much better.
I'll check the local news at night, but the 24/7 news channels are nothing but opinions, blame, gloom/doom, and negativity. Of course that's what they want so you will watch, which in return raises their ratings and revenue. They live for this shit.
On another thought just "what if" over the last 3 years our borders were open. This situation could be way worse.

Yep.... the days of Walter Cronkite are long gone. It's like the news is getting as bad as a poor reality TV show. Drama & arguing......

I think everyone working outside the house should receive hazard pay.
I know truckers who are out delivering the shit we buy who can't even eat on the road because fast food places won't allow walk throughs in their drive through and the semis can't fit. Dealing with stuff like that, plus possibly getting sick, while making what they make is total bullshit.
Same with cops, EMT, doctors, and nurses.

They totally should. Unfortunately I do not think truckers have been given much respect in a long time.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:37 amI think everyone working outside the house should receive hazard pay.

One positive outcome of this could be a little better clarity on what's required and what isn't for society to run.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:39 amThey totally should. Truckers? Required
Hollywood know-it-alls? Not Required.

By the way, what's up with the wacky shit some of these clowns have been posting to social media? Madonna and Drew Barrymore come to mind. Weird shit.

When you're a self centered twat who lives for adoration, I'm sure it's tough to deal with getting ignored when people focus on genuinely important stuff.
