It's crazy. You can pick up a tropik for less than half that.

Was planning on selling my GMT, so I guess it’s a good thing for me!

Was also considering selling mine. Not going to get anywhere close to that price though unless you have the yellow or the grey dial.

I just took a look at Doxa on Recon. Guy has a 1200 Pro listed for 1800 GBP. That’s $2348 at this morning’s rate. “Still under warranty” And it’s sold.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Hmmmm, I guess I might be the exception. I'm really not a big fan and have always found the Seaforth rather plain.

My money is safe.

Recession coming I expect, possibly a severe one. Going to be interesting to see what happens to watch prices, especially on the used market.

People seem to have larger collections nowadays, curious to see if significantly more watches get dumped on the market this year.

There is a NIB Tropik bronze for sale on reddit for less than the Seaforth models. Why are the Seaforth selling for crazy prices, and you can still find other Halios models for less (albeit more than there original sale price). Crazy.

I personally like the Tropik best but it did not pull as much love as the Seaforth in the watch community.

I like both my Tropik and Seaforths. But I don’t think the seaforths are crazy better, just different. And there are less tropiks out there. But I suspect the colorways are a big part of it, too. I don’t think the tropik blue was a good blue. And other than that it’s black or white.

Good point. The Seaforth have a very wide color palette.

and at least a couple are relatively unusual colors you don't see a lot of. those tend to be the ones holding value.

that said, a lot of the seaforth craziness i think is still residual hype from the craziness when it came out. that first round was right when halios was in the midst of the meteoric rise from a small brand that held value because the watches were well-made/designed for the price and came out in limited numbers. so many people jumped on the bandwagon after the first round of seaforths disappeared so fast.

it doesn't hurt that jason is a good guy and i think genuinely treats his customers well. things grew a little faster than he expected.

then again, bill yao and eddie platt treat their customers like crap and people keep coming back for more, so what do i know about anything.
