Hi all I am new to the forum but have been collecting vintage watches for a while now and frequent other forums including MWR, The Watchsite and the Omega Forum. Interests are military issued watches and vintage divers. Current divers are a Seiko 6105-8110 from 1973, Zenith A3630 and the one I would like to discuss my Favre-Leuba Bathy 160. This one was up for auction recently on ebay but was missing movement parts as well as the inner caseback. From what I can tell it is missing the depth gauge part of the movement and the balance assembly. I assume the depth gauge part and inner case back will be nearly impossible to source but thought I could at least get it back into running condition to wear by sourcing the other required parts from a donor Peseux 320 movement which seem to be plentiful and available. I have had some correspondence with Favre-Leuba who say they may be able to help at a cost but cannot guarantee they will have all parts. It's a long way to send the watch from Australia to be told they cannot help. Would be happy to hear opinions, advice or any leads that may help me get this watch running and wearable.

Thanks for the welcome. Spoke to my local watchmaker who has helped with some projects in the past and he is willing to have a look in the new year. At this stage I'll try and get it running as I am looking forward to being able to wear

Just updating progress on the watch. Last resort contacted Favre-Leuba in Switzerland who have been most helpful. Turns out they have the parts I need and will be able to get it going again along with a full service. Have asked them not to replace, polish anything. It's not going to be cheap but my initial investment was only about $550 USD so I can afford to spend the money on it without over capitalizing. Watch made it safely to Switzerland and will update once returned

Watch finally arrived last week via Fedex and a trip around the world. Final leg from Sydney to Perth, Western Australia was by rail due to cancelled flights. I think when I initially purchased I was a bit naive as to what it was going to take to find parts and repair so a big thank you to Stephan Berger and his team at Favre-Leuba who were able to fit N.O.S parts and service to get the watch running again. I think the total outlay justifies the result. Watch was dated to 1968.
