Sinn 403 Diver Professional
Sinn 403 Diver Professional
New to me 403. Before owning her numerical dial appears a cheap citizen dial face to me. But, I still decided to give it a go. Once she arrives my opinion changes.
It's easier to tell time with my weary eyes and her right hand crown not pressing on forearm like an EZM2. The shortcomings are both tiny time etching with brushed surface on bezel to be hard to see during diving. I notice the bezel improvement for EZM2.
This one is without oil but i also understand that Sinn will not oil fill the case if we request.

Re: Sinn 403 Diver Professional
I’m sure Sinn would sell an EZM2 black bezel and it could swap right on. No?
Re: Sinn 403 Diver Professional
I think they will but i also own a EZM2 so it does not really bother me. I will keep her original bezel.

It’s a cool and unique piece of Sinn history.

Why wouldn't Sinn fill it up with oil?

I think he’s trying to say that if you request it not be oil filled, they’ll leave it unfilled.toxicavenger wrote:Why wouldn't Sinn fill it up with oil?

If not, I think you can get Seth to fill it with some 90wt gear oil.CGSshorty wrote:I think he’s trying to say that if you request it not be oil filled, they’ll leave it unfilled.toxicavenger wrote:Why wouldn't Sinn fill it up with oil?

Re: Sinn 403 Diver Professional
I'm not saying that I haven't sourced the flouro oil used by Sinn to fill these, but... There was a time a few years ago that I opened an EZM2 to replace the battery with an OEM battery and was very surprised to find the back dry. The face and dial side were full of oil, but the back of the watch's interior was walled off from the front by a rubber dam! So the battery exchange took about 10 seconds and it was as 'good' as new. But I always wondered 1) how many were made like this? and 2) what depth could it really go to before the caseback would deform?
