Finalllllly a handset that be used on the cheap 62mas and 200mm. They’ll look pretty sweet with these.

Those are terrible. My son plays a game called Monster Hunter World. Is that the same thing?

Checked out the Ti SD MM300 @ Seiko Boutique Miami. Great light weight alternative, polished and brushed case is well finished, and a nice tapered Ti bracelet with the MM expansion clasp. The bezel insert is apparently sapphire. The crown is big, but not a deal breaker. Height is the biggest drawback with these. I’d definitely consider one at the usual discount from an AD or JDM seller.

Less than a hair thicker than a U1 Pro. 15.7 vs 15.4

I didn’t try to put it under my shirt cuff, because there’s no point. It seems taller than an MM300, but wears much like a Pelagos. It’s not necessarily a better watch at that list price, though Spring Drive is great.

Another weird thing is the applied index markers are not all polished. It looked like 12,6,9 have some brushed finish and it created an effect like a rainbow hologram under the boutique lighting. That was sucky.

Edit: You can see it in the 9:00 index here.

Likely brushed ti markers.

I do like the watch and would buy (at the usual AD discount) if I had extra cash, but with my GS Quartz I don’t see the point, especially when all my others are no-date.

Seiko people are smoking crack. I can't believe they're selling at these prices (the Apocalypse Now re issue is widely available pretty much across all Asia, so being a LE I guess it's not moving at all)
+1 probably opium

The price hikes on their limited editions divers really turned me off. Oh well. The market will decide and Seiko will adjust accordingly.

I don't know if I agree. Both of these chronos feature a column wheel movement with a vertical clutch. Those are generally pretty pricey, so I'm not sure $4,000 MSRP is unreasonable given what Omega, Breitling, Tudor, and (especially) Rolex charge for the same sort of thing. That's different from the simpler 3 hand movement that's found in the dive watch.

But, of course, that doesn't mean people will be willing to pay it.

That 50th anniversary chrono is very nice. I dont think its a bad price for that watch and movement. Although I'm always biased with chronographs as you can still pick up a "preloved" Speedy for a decent price.
